@iamsebj Notification permission is to alert when a new version is available. The app is free, and trust me it did take me quite some time, so in return we ask you to invite a friend if you want to remove that banner. That should not be too much to ask 😅
@alexk Totally understand, but it's not obvious that inviting a friend in some way repays your time investment, unless you mean that paid or subscription features are on their way in the future which makes having more users beneficial?
Glad to know what the notification permission is for – an onboarding screen or some subtle hint before the system dialog pops up could helpful there, otherwise I'm inclined to decline the permission without the right information.
Great app, @alexk! I have a note with coffee shops around the city that I use a lot, and Spotty is a promising replacement to that. To do so, there's only one thing it lacks: the ability to write notes on places marked.
In my note there are opening hours of each coffee shop, for example, which is really useful when I want to go out in a Sunday (around here, few of them open on Sunday afternoon).
Any plans on adding this feature?

I’ve built a simple app to precisely place a marker on a map, and then share its location with my friends. Spotty differentiates itself from other map bookmarking apps by being super easy to use and focused on the task at play. I’m finding myself using it extensively during my travels and I hope you will be too.
With Spotty you can:
