Check out this new bicycle-selling security feature powered by Strava.
Bike theft is very common, especially where I live in the SF Bay Area. That’s why it’s super interesting to see Sprocket, a peer-to-peer bicycle marketplace, leverage the Strava API to let sellers share their Strava gear data with buyers.
No other marketplace brings together verifiable ride history and serial number registry data to help buyers make the right decision. This is a great start for leveraging software to reduce bicycle theft and it’s pretty wild that there’s now a CarFax for bicycles!

We're very excited about this new ride history feature powered by Strava - which adds another trust vector to our peer-to-peer marketplace alongside frame serial number verification through Bike Index and 529 Garage. By allowing sellers to add both ride history and serial number data to their bicycle listings we increase trust even further, making Sprocket the most secure yet semi-decentralized marketplace for buying used bikes!
Our international team has worked really hard on this Strava integration, as it comprises a lot of moving parts across 3 clients, so we're glad to see it live and can't wait for you to use it 🤩
