Love this! I save mostly articles to Pocket right now, will Stash be able to differentiate between them or will I have 1000 Articles, 2 Recipes?

@nydrewreynolds Good question! You can also add tags, which allow you to slice-and-dice content with the same category. We automatically recommend these tags based on the subject of the content, though this is still a work in progress.

Looks killer. Bit of an issue when I tried to set reminder, hadn't enabled them, came back and couldn't set that reminder. Then had to re-stash the article and now have 2x the article.
I'd expect if I tried to save something twice (happens all the time in my use of Pinboard), it reminds me and lets me update the bookmark.

Pretty awesome! How consistent is the AI? I bookmark a ton of things and sometimes forget to read them again, does Stash have the ability remind me of my bookmarks? @sachinrudr
@davidsfeng We try our best, but there are some really strangely formatted webpages out there. So we’ve also tried to make the experience as smooth and useful as possible even when Stash isn't able to pick up a type.
And yes! You can set reminders on links when you stash them. There is also an option to set a weekly email digest that combines all the links you stashed throughout the week (under settings).
@sachinrudr Awesome thanks! The email digest is actually a good call... We're building customer conversation reminders ourselves for our product as well and maybe a digest of some sort makes sense too. Thanks for the idea :)

@cm0nt0y4 Yep! Pro tip: under settings you can turn on weekly digest emails that condense everything you stash throughout the week into one email.
Hello Product Hunt, and thanks to @robjama for hunting us!
We built Stash with the idea that there’s a lot of content on the web that we want to save, but current save-for-later services focus mainly on articles. There are also the songs we find on Soundcloud, the places we want to eat at on Yelp, the books we want to read on Goodreads - just to name a few.
We wanted to build one place to store all of that information, while effortlessly keeping it organized. Using Stash, users are able to save links from anywhere - whether it’s from a browser, while using other apps, or through a built-in search + add mechanism.
In the process, we also wanted to to solve a lot of long-overdue problems with current bookmarking solutions. These include:
- Having tools like reminders and digests to help us actually go to back to the content that we save
- The ability to quickly push a link from one device to another (between Desktop, iOS and, yes, Android)
- The ability to quickly share content with anyone without having to draft a new email

I have been looking for something just like this FOREVER. Pocket for everything. Mobile extensions and auto tags FTW!
I wanted to build something like this since 2010 or so, but never ever had the time! Thx for doing it!
Long time Pocket (years before it was rebranded as Pocket). Generally happy w/ the tool. A few comments on Stash, which looks great!
- offline reading mode?
- ability to set new articles as "unread", then later make them as "read"? I could be misunderstanding/misusing 'reminders' in Stash, but the flow in Pocket is really intuitive and automatic.
- Pocket's article view is pretty nice... (-:
- import from Pocket?
- I have always wanted a way to comment/add notes to articles in Pocket, perhaps even highlight/comment

Using Pocket since it wasn't call Pocket and kind a happy the way it has performed. Competition is good and it brings innovation and I like Stash. With the quick use doing setup and share some document from pocket itself I found few things,
- Article named as pocket link instead of actual article/video name - tried 5-6 different article but none of them was able to categorized. - No way to easy read the article without cluttering. These are my initial thoughts. I will keep trying the app.
Some problem with pdfs. Im not able to stash this:

@adheen_ajay The link seems to be working for us - it's being stashed as a “File” - we’d be happy to look into this in more depth if you send us some details (browser type, version, etc) to team@stash.ai.
First, let me say I love the service - I've only been using it less than an hour, and it may already be replacing pocket (and possibly even pushbullet) for me. The ease of migration was phenomenal - well done!
Now, on to the sad part.
In the browser the fonts of the UI are too small. I have a 15.4 inch 1920x1080 Laptop, nothing special, but the text of the UI is VERY small. I have decent eye-sight - as a web developer my sublime text font is set to one below the default setting, my phone is set to use the smallest font for it's UI - the problem isn't my eyes, it's the teeny tiny fontsize used here.
If I zoom the browser tab to 125% it makes everything comfortable again.
Other suggestions for improvement of this amazing (free) service:
- Colour code the "type" labels etc, and match them to the filters on the right - the icons communicate the link type really well, but there is a visual disconnect from the "Types" filter on the right. Colour coding them to match would greatly improve this. Say image is a green type, "Image on imgur" would have "Image" in green. It's subtle, but it helps.
- Display images for image links. Rather than the image logo, show the image, or the first image, on the page. Same with videos. Most video sites - youtube and vimeo for certain - provide a means to grab the still thumbnail of an image. It would be awesome if this was displayed alongside the link entry. In fact you could do this for most pages. Most blogs and sites now include Facebook OG Meta Tags for their pages, so you could display them with the icon overlayed to indicate the type of link entry that is being shown.

Exactly what I've been looking for! I tried Pinboard but it's waaay too minimal for my liking. This seems to strike the perfect balance.
Better UI. Auto categorization. Reminder option.
I'm a Pocket-fan for more than a year. But this is tempting.
I saved this tab to remind myself to make an account... I ended up forgetting about it until today and wanted to make my account with the tab that was still opened and it said the invite code is no longer valid :( did I miss out? :( I was really looking forward to this :( @rahul_shah @cwgoes @sachinrudr
@jsnfwlr Agree with your feedback on the font size. I also wish Stash used image previews like Pocket does.
Aside from those UI caveats, I think Stash does make it much easier to categorize/filter bookmarks which can become a bit laborious with Pocket. The reminders concept is also a great feature.
The interface is fairly spartan; I suspect this is the first time this developer has had to design their own product. There aren't any bookmark thumbnails or colors. Your bookmarks page is just a list of several hundred mostly-identical items, and they don't have real search, just “filters”, so you aren't going to get relevancy ranking, which is a bummer because it's built into tools like Postgresql. Yet another bookmarking tool that focuses too much on the bookmarking experience and not enough on resurfacing and utilizing those bookmarks later.
Pros:Automatic categorization, push to devices
Cons:Dated interface, no thumbnails, poor search
@tomflemming Good news - you can import all of your Instapaper links! (and Pocket, Chrome Bookmarks, Safari Bookmarks, etc)

@kenyarmosh Try exporting your Pinboard bookmarks as an html file and using the "Other" import option. If it doesn't work, shoot us an email at team@stash.ai and we can definitely help you out!

This is fantastic! You've thought of everything! Love it.
It would be cool if "Song" became a playlist in the app, "Article" a read mode (with dark/light theme's), "Images" a collection of all the images, "Movie" a collection of posters etc. etc.
