Hi everyone!
My name is Logan. I'm the maker behind Story — thanks for checking it out!
I started building Story because I felt that all the major productivity tools and project management apps seemed to have a fundamental problem.
Which is that while many of these tools do a great job at helping you organize and control "WHAT" you are doing. (Creating and prioritizing tasks, making assignments etc.)
None of these tools seemed to be built from the ground up to help you connect with "WHY" your work really matters.
That's what I felt was missing from so many of the work experiences I was a part of, "Why do these tasks matter?"
I built Story because I think meaningful work is less about "creating tasks and making assignments" and should be more about feeling like you're playing a necessary role in a bigger story.
So I spent 10 years working to deeply understand what's wrong with our current paradigm for work, and how it could be changed to make work more meaningful for everyone.
I founded my company (The Elkadeo Way) to build resources and tools to help people learn and apply the principles I discovered in work and life — and Story represents one of the biggest efforts of this mission that I'm excited to share with you!

@naoto_shibata_morph Thanks Naoto! Yes, in fact the high level story for Story is to "Create a tool that helps increase human autonomy." We want to make a tool that makes it easier for humans to experience more meaningful work together, and literally one of the child-stories of that story is to "make it as accessible as possible" which includes building the mobile apps :)
If I was part of a larger team, I'd 100% buy this. No brainer.
I love your video on your page, I'd love to hear how you made it! I didn't listen with audio but was able to get the point.
This feels like something really important as I see everyone move towards gig economies.
Probably not fitting for a comment here, but while I'm thinking about it...
Maybe we're seeing a move towards (as a founder/owner):
Full time employees - Desperate need for this type of tool, huge alignment needed to avoid principle/agent issue.
Contract workers/freelancers - Don't need this tool, hired for a job.
Agencies - Hired specifically for X or Y, nothing else.

Thanks for the launch and creating such a thought provoking tool!
Hey @esus thanks for checking out Story! It's great to hear your thoughts and feedback.
Regarding the video, I have a background in video production and used and Adobe Illustrator and After Effects workflow for most of the graphics and animation. Thats also me doing the voice over 😅
Yes, love your thoughts on the future of work. Different people in different situations will want or need different levels of context and connection. In cases where you have more fluid or creative teams, you can take advantage of more of those emergent 'role building' features like what's shown in the video. And in situations where roles and expectations are more defined and straightforward, you could easily run things that way as well. My hope is people discover the tool has the flexibility to help support them in telling whatever story it is they are a part of. Thanks for your thoughts Esus!
What a fantastic introduction video. The animations at the start were nice and the explanation you provided in a clear and concise way really brought it home. I'm keen to explore the early access and see how your story continues to play out.
I'm sure it's on the roadmap, but can you talk a bit about how you see Story plugging into existing tools like Jira or Linear rather than requiring teams to switch over (or about migration if the plan is to have teams move)?
This tool is amazing! It's helped me turn my ideas into reality and I can't wait to see what else it can do! Congratulations on the launch of this incredible product!
First, I must say, what a refreshing take on the "why" behind productivity! Few apps that enable storytelling and taking the team on a journey ... would have loved sth like this in my previous positions. Quick curiosity: In Story, do team members see how their tasks fit into the broader narrative? Like, a visual representation of the bigger picture?
@wintoniak Hi Constantin, Thanks for being here today! I'm glad that part resonates with you. Yes that's right, Story has a "Maps" feature built into it that helps you see different visualizations of how all of the different tasks and people connect to each other in your entire 'story'.
The awareness level can be fine tuned for the different roles you create in your team, so that you can find the right fit for what areas of the entire story people are privy to. Based on the roles you possess you get different level 'awareness' to see different levels of detail on whats happening throughout the various other stories in your project.
I tend to really enjoy transparent and open companies where anyone can see the whole picture of whats happening in the entire larger story. But I also understand the need to be able to fine tune those levels when dealing with sensitive information or personal preference etc. Story was built to help you strike that balance. But the result is essentially a real-time map of whats happening throughout your entire story!
@logan_bean Thanks for the super detailed explanation. That does indeed sound like a great product and approach, I am looking forward to giving this a try for my current project!
Being in the PM world for most of my career, Story creates the clarity and purpose that teams need but rarely get. Leaving work feeling pointless. Love the video and can't express how relatable it is. Also, the AI aspect of this app is incredible and will truly allow all organizations to harness the power of AI agents.
Whoa! This seems interesting. It's like giving a meaningful purpose to regular activities. Tech savvy HRs and product managers would probably love it. Best wishes!
This looks amazing! 🤩
Can't wait to try it out!
I've been head of product twice and even though I'm super nerdy about all things process and automation, it's VERY difficult to find a solution that really works. This looks pretty promising.
Looking forward to the launch guys! Great job!
Story seems like a fantastic tool for team management. The focus on both teams and projects is a balanced approach. I'm curious, do you have any plans to incorporate AI-driven insights to help teams make data-backed decisions?
@nixkulinax Thanks for checking out Story Alex. Yes thats exactly right, one of the biggest challenges today with getting the most out of AI agents is building the structure of context for them to work in side-step with people. AI features like being able to chat with the collective data of your entire project to understand whats happening, or using AI to help you create plans on where to go. Features like this are one of the things I'm most excited about in Story.
@cabobean Thanks Marshall! That was one of the big aha moments in the early days of designing this app. There are so many emergent solutions we miss out on when we approach work through the "assignment" paradigm. Instead if we had tools that made it possible for people to find the places they can add value, which often only they can see — how much more could we accomplish together?
