When I first read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" to my baby girl, I was amazed by the beautiful story. It's not only inspiring for children but also for adults. It made me realize that StoryBooks can be a wonderful tool for learning and bonding between kids and adults. Congratulations on the launch!
@kenlian
Your experience with "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" captures the exact sentiment we aim to foster with StoryBooks - that stories aren't just entertaining, but they can also be powerful tools for learning and creating bonds. We're thrilled that you see this potential in our app!
Thanks so much for your kind words and support. Happy storytelling, and here's to many more enriching experiences with your little one! ππβ¨
I just tried this out with an absurd fun prompt about dinosaurs in the desert, rain, and umbrellas dictated by my 3 year old and the app did a fantastic job with the story! Love it.
@shwetha_hariharan
This is exactly the kind of creative storytelling we love to see! Your 3 year old sure knows how to dream up an exciting plot. We're overjoyed that StoryBooks could bring this dinosaur desert saga to life. Thanks for sharing this delightful experience, and here's to many more fun and absurd prompts! π¦ποΈπ§οΈπ
This is such a cool idea @roamingtechie and one of the good implementations of GPT (assuming). We do read stories to our 7 year old every night, so understand the usecase. I did give this a try, and I think this has a lot more potential.
1. The prompt approach has kind of a cold start problem is what i feel. It takes a bit of mental effort to imagine and create a prompt without knowing what results to expect - I would think it might help to break it down and ask for lets say - character names, some story scenario options etc - so that it makes it easier for the user to get started
2. Liked the part that images are created. Here again character personalization (what if my daughter could choose her avatar and name and that becomes part of the story) might be the key to getting kids hooked
3. While I do see and agree with the importance of reading, sometimes I feel that getting the story read by the app itself might be helful (for e.g. we used to love listening to Granny Mcduffs podcasts on spotify). If the personalized story could be presented that way, might be a superb experience
Loved the attempt. Keep going and good luck!
@rakesh1
First off, thank you for your thorough feedback and for giving StoryBooks a try with your own storytelling routines. It's invaluable to hear from users who are actively engaged in the kind of experiences we aim to enhance!
1. You raise an excellent point about the prompt approach. We're currently exploring ways to guide users through the story creation process more interactively, possibly by asking for specific inputs like character names or story scenarios. Your insight validates this direction!
2. We're thrilled that you liked the image creation aspect. Character personalization, as you mentioned, could indeed be a game-changer for engagement. We'll certainly take this into account as we refine our features.
3. Your idea of having the app read the story is brilliant. We understand how it could enhance the story experience and provide a useful option for different situations. This is something we'll look into.
Again, thank you for your constructive and insightful comments. They're greatly appreciated, and they'll certainly inform our next steps. Let's keep the story adventure going! ππβ¨
Hey Alex, it's awesome that we can actually tailor the stories for our kids. I didn't see anything like it before. Now days kids books are full of BS. I am looking forward to try StoryBooks, I am eyeing Coding Cat for my kid! Congrats on your launch! πππ
@vladimir_zivkovic

This is genuinely awesome! Love the concept, art style, though it up to us the parent should always make sure that our stories is educational and entertainment. Congrats on your launch!
@ducnguyenhuu
Absolutely! You're spot on - parents play a crucial role in guiding the educational and entertainment value of content for their children. We designed StoryBooks with this in mind, aiming to offer a tool that enhances this role, not replace it. We're glad you're loving our concept and art style, and your support is hugely appreciated. Let the story adventures continue! ππ
Congrats on the launch of StoryBooks, Alex! It's absolutely amazing and inspiring. I've tried it a few times and was blown away by the thoughtful criteria and structure. The way it sparks creativity and strengthens the bond between parents and kids is simply fantastic. Your initiative really struck a chord with me since storytelling has always played a huge role in my relationship with my dad. Speaking of suggestions, it would be super cool to have the option of creating custom characters in different prompts. We could describe their looks, age, and make the whole experience even more personalized and fun. Wishing you tremendous success!
@gustavomuraro
Wow, your message truly warmed our hearts! It's so exciting to hear that StoryBooks has been able to enhance the storytelling experience for you, and that it's brought back special memories of your own relationship with your dad.
The suggestion about creating custom characters in different prompts is fantastic, and it's definitely something we're looking into as we aim to make the stories even more personalized and immersive.
Thank you for the support and well wishes. It's users like you who inspire us to keep making StoryBooks better. πβ¨π

@ashwani_chauhan
Thank you for the support!
For the language addition, I'd love to learn more about what you have in mind. Are you interested in having multiple languages side-by-side, to make it easier and more fun to learn a second language? Or do you have something else in mind?
@roamingtechie - I was looking to have stories in multiple languages. After adding / putting prompts - I was looking to read story in multiple languages.
Congrats on the launch of StoryBooks, Alex!
I absolutely love the concept of personalized, AI-generated stories for kids + images.
The app looks great, but it would be even more amazing if there were some demo stories available. Good luck!
@maxtpham
Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and your insightful feedback about StoryBooks! Your idea about demo stories is fantastic and aligns with what we're currently working on. Stay tuned for this feature!
We're here because of supportive folks like you. Don't hesitate to share any more thoughts as we journey forward!
Congrats on the launch π I always wanted to have something like this but couldn't manage the consistency in image generation. I really liked your simple UI and the choice in illustration. Keep up the good work!
@ekrcet
Thanks a ton for your support and kind words! Maintaining consistency in image generation is definitely challenging, but we're thrilled to hear that you appreciate our approach. Your compliment about our UI and illustrations means a lot to us. Let's keep the story adventure going! ππ¨π

Thatβs my book!amazing idea but it does need some tweaking !! twice. I put in a lot of work into my prompt i couldβve written the story in fact!and it didnβt generate said try again later so on the fourth go as I had one book written, that one it put the in the description of how I wanted it reading so I thought that was my error but both books had it at the end.The mummy unicorn and daddy were unicorns but baby unicorn is a little boy with a horn sticking out of his head LOL sorry I didnβt see how much it was as I said great concept, but I put my heart and soul into to those stories. They were really good as well. I think I may have found my niche LOL for a side hustle, but I couldβve written on myself in the time that I spent on the Proms and thatβs where I thought Iβd come round to match the description but obviously not. Iβm sure it will be amazing once once itβs tweeked I did not go in and read any of the books, because apparently they werenβt finished apart from one, and Iβm trying to review as many as itβs possible for the top 10, but I will look Iβm looking more depth
@cap_caz
Thank you for your detailed feedback and for investing so much effort and creativity into your prompts! We're sorry to hear about the hiccups you experienced, but your insights are extremely valuable as we strive to refine StoryBooks.
I'm excited to share that we've added a new feature: a "Publish Story" button. This allows you to send your crafted story to our team for review. Once approved, we'll feature your story on the Discover page, making it available for other users to enjoy. This could be a fantastic opportunity to share the stories you've created with a broader audience!
In addition, we have updated our "Discover Stories" section with a selection of finished stories. We'd love for you to dive in and let us know your thoughts.
Your patience, enthusiasm, and understanding are much appreciated as we continue to tweak and improve the StoryBooks experience. Here's to creating more captivating stories together! ππ

@dominik_koch
Thanks a ton for your support! We're so glad you find our idea unique and amazing. It's feedback like this that keeps us motivated. ππ
Hi Alex, congrats on the launch and baby!
I tried Storybooks, and I think it's really cool. It would be even better if we could see what other people are creating, so we can learn from their prompts and preferences, similar to Product Hunt (PH), I guess. Overall, good job, dude!
@raisans
Thank you for the congrats and for trying out StoryBooks! We're glad you found it cool. Your suggestion about seeing other users' creations is intriguing, and it's something we'll seriously consider. Learning from each other's creativity could indeed make the experience even richer. Thanks for the idea and for your kind words. π
@jsteneros
We're thrilled you're on board with the AI magic behind StoryBooks! It's an exciting journey turning tech into fun, engaging stories for kids. Thanks for the support!
