🧩 A new API plugin to improve the experience of plugin developers. You'll only need to configure two files in the root of the package instead of modifying multiple files!
🌐 REST and GraphQL API to be more flexible and consistent. We have added pagination, a better filtering format, possibility to choose what relations to load. Consume the API easily and choose what data should be fetched from the database.
⚙️ Database query engine offering an improved database layer to make Strapi more
flexible and powerful. It will allow developers to efficiently interact with the database and add custom code more easily. It will also make the migration between different Strapi versions smoother.
🎨 New Design System! Built on top of a React components library, the Strapi Design System allows all plugin developers to use the ready-made components for their plugin interface.
🔒 A new level of control and security. In v4, the Content API and the Admin API are now separated and the access to the Content API can be easily managed using the API Tokens.
🤔 Error Handling offering a standard error format for Errors returned by Strapi's
API. Whenever you receive an error, you will know exactly what it means and how to solve the problem.

It looks amazing, Strapi team! I didn't test it yet but probably still best on perf as well :)
p.s.: I'm also really wondering how it works for Strapi team financially while there is no cloud system via strapi website.

I love !Strapi! We have used it on multiple projects the last couple of years at Broken Mold Labs. It keeps getting better and better, I couldn't recommend enough.
Strapi 4 looks really promising, but the lack of custom field support is totally confounding and I think a deal breaker for anyone building something more interesting than a blog. Would love to make this my agency's go to CMS if that ever gets addressed!

@maxime_castres1 yea we'll see, that's been on the roadmap for a while, but regardless IMO Strapi is well beyond a point it's reasonable to not support such a standard feature. After spending more time with Strapi, some possibly even bigger deal breakers have come up, this is a big one that does not appear to be on the roadmap: https://github.com/strapi/strapi...
Strapi an alternative to world recognized CMS as a Backend like WordPress.
Since I started using strapi 2 years ago, the team product delivery has become a way easier task. Because strapi gives an user friendly interface and also a very strong infrastructure in the background. I always talk to the people about strapi, because is a great tool to be productive really fast and every single version they are publishing they are just nailing it! (Y)
