Hi guys! I’m one of the co-founders of Stream Club. We started off in April 2020 by creating software that helped friends and family members affected by COVID-19 make money from virtual events hosted on Zoom.
After working with 10s of thousands of creators, we learned that it wasn’t ticketing that was a challenge for most — it was sustainably creating quality live video that people actually wanted to watch and engage with. We’ve spent the last year building a platform that helps the armchair pundits, comedians, teachers, coaches, small business owners of the world build their brand and tell better stories through livestreaming.
Livestreaming has been around for decades but in many ways the industry is still riddled with legacy software. Take the average livestreamer on Twitch: they’re likely paying for and using a slew of software, from OBS to Restream to Zoom — all hacked together with overlays that you have to *code* into the stream. They may need to hire a designer to do simple customizations or outsource development to an engineer. And while these programs offer benefits to a small amount of people, they’re overkill, expensive, and not built for 2021.
Remember what websites looked like before “regular folks” had access to no-code website building tools? Yeah, we’d like to forget too.
Our first step in achieving this goal is here today with our Studio product, which allows users to design, produce, and broadcast a livestream all in the browser with gorgeous themes and templates. We’re most excited about Scenes & Projects, which allow folks to easily design layouts, minimizing on-air snafus and anxiety. I can guarantee you’ve never experienced anything like this before! Our team quite literally invented a new video broadcasting technology in order to make this possible in the browser.
But what’s the point of creating all this great content if no one is there to see it? Now you can simultaneously broadcast to platforms like Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, Twitch, Stream Club, and anywhere with an RTMP output.
We hope you love it as much as we do!
@brad_schnitzer1 As a founder, I have zero respect for any company that achieves or attempts to achieve success illegitimately by taking advantage of the hard work of others.
@brad_schnitzer1 We love Stu & the team. They've done some amazing stuff in the space, but no, we don't use their Cloud API. We would've loved to build with their API so we could focus a bit more on our core customer, but ultimately had to build our own rebroadcasting system to achieve our goals.
I like the product but I like more the website design. It feels like a cosmetic website that allows you to stream your makeup tutorial! Congrats on launch! 🚀
