Stride is a new game for runners and walkers. The objective is simple: own the most tiles in your neighbourhood. To capture tiles just hit start and the app tracks your physical movement in the background.

I totally like Stride! First of all, I have instantly got back a wish and will to activate myself again due its' interesting ways of dealing and such a nice motivation for a healthy and yet entertaining activities! Big congrats on the launch! ^_^ I especially like friends' challenges! Is a number of team members limited? :D
Ben Barker
@maria_brm thanks Maria - max 20 in a team!

This looks very interesting. Unfortunately, I don't have a Garmin or Apple watch... Any plans for a Strava connection? That's what I use...
Ben Barker
@danischenker Hi Dani - if you're on iOS you can connect Strava via Apple Health. Or if you're using a different smart watch (Suunto, Polar) your better off connecting directly via Apple Health. If you're on Android then we're going to be integrating Google Fit in the coming months.
Dani Schenker🇨🇭
@ben_barker I don't use any watch at all... I only have Strava on my Android phone for my walks. Not big watch fan, hehe. Cheers
Ben Barker
@danischenker Ok, then you might need to wait until we have Google Fit integrated

@christopher_urquhart Really pleased to hear it! We have lots more to come this year too
Mary
@ben_barker I have had a fun time with this product. It keeps my aunt and I motivated to run and overall it lets us compete against others that use it too. 😊
Ben Barker
@mary8 That's great to hear

I’ve been trying Stride for about a week. It’s a fun app, but the Product Hunt promise of 3 free months was baloney. Your website link failed and I had to pay full price at the App Store. Good app but I will probably cancel because I feel misled.

Hi Ben - Why is no one responding to my concerns?
Arttu Haho
Gotta give this a try now when I switch from XC skiing to running! Looks like a funny idea! Congrats! ?makers
Ben Barker
@arttuhaho Hope you enjoy, skiing is coming soon!

Creative idea! This is definitely exciting to learn about as a life-long, avid runner. My family has an active Strava group, and I have all of my devices sync with Strava. Is there a way or plans to connect with Strava? It is definitely a huge market of runners that are very competitive people. Great job with the app!
Ben Barker
@ianthekid Yes, if you're on Apple you can connect Strava via Apple Health
Johannes Pittgens
Hey ?makers, is Stride limited to a certain region or does it work globally? Is there any way to integrate data from my tracking apps (e.g. Strava)? @fariz_hakim check this out!
Jason Yang
Thanks for creating, makers. I am going to see if I can integrate my marathon training with this app.
Ben Barker
@jason_yang_81 Good luck with the training

Launching soon!
I've been super excited for this launch to give Stride a try, especially with spring right around the corner up here in Canada 🇨🇦 One of my favourite aspects of the Strava app are the Local Legend statuses, but they don't happen frequently enough or keep me motivated/aware of what turf I should be going after, as the gamified aspects of the app are tertiary to the route tracking and data. Stride feels like a great alternative, so I'm excited to give it a shot—will report back in two weeks with how my runs have gone 🏃

Ive been using Sride ever since it rebirthed in beta and it's my go to running app mostly because it does inspire me to explore new runs away my boring south london routes!! LEGENDS! (the map social share is brilliant)
Ben Barker
@millsustwo Thanks Mills 🔥
Rodrigo Ghedin
?makers Did you give any thought on misuses that Stride enables? This app seems like a godsent for stalkers and predators…
Thomas Yes
Hi. Its a awesome app and I support it as a paying user. Could you please add a sound or vibration when a hex i captured?
Ben Barker
@thomas_yes Thanks Thomas, that sounds like a good suggestion too. I've added it to our backlog
John Brandy
When I clicked on the Get It link and went to your website I only got the option to buy from the AppStore/PlayStore. I was never asked for the discount code so had to pay full price. Other than that it is interesting.
Melanie Hayes
I love Stride - my colleagues and I compete to own the territory around our office; great way to get everyone active.
Ben Barker
@melanieannehayes We need to see a BGV alliance!
Dama Sathianathan
@melanieannehayes @ben_barker we can make that happen!
Stuart Bell
Any app that turns running into a game gets my vote. I played with this right back in its early days, and that initial seed of inspiration has turned into a very slick running game. See you out there!
Ben Barker
@stuartsjb Thanks Stuart, glad we're delivering on that early promise. Lots more to come too!
Donat Deger
By far my favorite app for all my running, hiking and walking activities. Highly motivating and continuously being improved. Keep up the good work!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼✨
Ben Barker
@donatius777 Thanks - such a nice comment. Glad your enjoying Stride
Christopher Urquhart
Love using this with my garmin, gives me the push to get out and explore new terrain and claim more tiles, I will rule Nottingham eventually 😂
Ben Barker
@christopher_urquhart Good luck in Nottingham Chris and thanks for the support!
Christopher Urquhart
@ben_barker how do we use the 3 month free code in the iOS app mentioned above? Definitely considering the upgrade.
David SC
Hi Ben, I love Stride, and use it lots here in SW England, but I love your original App "Run an Empire" even more. I have two questions about "Run an Empire". 1. PLEASE can you tell me when you are going to add the next levels after "Steel Forging"? 2. PLEASE could you reverse the part of the recent Run an Empire upgrade where you made it so that the collection of resources involves you tapping for EVERY unit you collect? My fingers and thumbs are aching! Please put it back to "one tap to collect all" for any one resource hex. I have quadrupled my physical activity since getting these Apps, which isn't bad for an over 60 year old. Don't get me wrong, I love and use both Apps, but Run an Empire now seriously needs more of your attention.
Ben Barker
@david_sc Thanks for the feedback, and glad you love Stride. We hope to put more time into Run An Empire in the coming months.
Ricardo Rodriguez
Highly recommended gamified running app! :) Would recommend if you're excited about adding an additional fun element to your jogging routines.
Ben Barker
@ricardo_rodriguez11 Thanks Ricardo - really appreciated
Thomas Yes
Hi again. It would also be nice if you had a mode for biking. Seperate map/scores and probably bigger hexes would be better.
Ben Barker
@thomas_yes This is a great idea and something we definitely hope to do in the future.
Mary
I have had a fun time with this product. It keeps my aunt and I motivated to run and overall it lets us compete against others that use it too.
Ben Barker
@mary8 Nice to hear you're using it with your aunt. Happy capturing!
