Hi all - Ben here, one of the makers of Stride. We're really excited to be launching the full version today on Product Hunt. It's been a year of working to get the game to where it is, we're really proud of what we've achieved. You can now download for free on android or iOS. Our mission with Stride is to make every run or walk an adventure. Whether you're exploring to find new routes, competing against a friend to own your suburb or looking for a social game there is always a reason to run with Stride. We're running a one day only product hunt exclusive giveaway to win $100 in amazon vouchers and 5 free premium memberships. Every submission will receive a free 3 month premium membership: Win $100 and 5 free premium memberships Thanks everyone, and let us know what of you think of Stride in the comments.

@christopher_urquhart Really pleased to hear it! We have lots more to come this year too
Mary
@ben_barker I have had a fun time with this product. It keeps my aunt and I motivated to run and overall it lets us compete against others that use it too. 😊
Ben Barker
@mary8 That's great to hear

I’ve been trying Stride for about a week. It’s a fun app, but the Product Hunt promise of 3 free months was baloney. Your website link failed and I had to pay full price at the App Store. Good app but I will probably cancel because I feel misled.

Hi Ben - Why is no one responding to my concerns?
Melanie Hayes
I love Stride - my colleagues and I compete to own the territory around our office; great way to get everyone active.
Ben Barker
@melanieannehayes We need to see a BGV alliance!
Dama Sathianathan
@melanieannehayes @ben_barker we can make that happen!
Christopher Urquhart
Love using this with my garmin, gives me the push to get out and explore new terrain and claim more tiles, I will rule Nottingham eventually πŸ˜‚
Ben Barker
@christopher_urquhart Good luck in Nottingham Chris and thanks for the support!
Christopher Urquhart
@ben_barker how do we use the 3 month free code in the iOS app mentioned above? Definitely considering the upgrade.

Any app that turns running into a game gets my vote. I played with this right back in its early days, and that initial seed of inspiration has turned into a very slick running game. See you out there!
Ben Barker
@stuartsjb Thanks Stuart, glad we're delivering on that early promise. Lots more to come too!
Ricardo Rodriguez
Highly recommended gamified running app! :) Would recommend if you're excited about adding an additional fun element to your jogging routines.
Ben Barker
@ricardo_rodriguez11 Thanks Ricardo - really appreciated

Jyri
Nice, lean concept. Easy to integrate to be played simultaneously with other location based games :)
Ben Barker
@jyri_h Thanks, lean is a really nice way to describe Stride :)
Julie LaPointe
Really excited to try this! I agree a vibration when a hex is collected sounds like a great idea.
Ben Barker
@jlp12 Thanks Julie!
Erica Stillwell
Very fun, the competition is excellent motivation for my runs!
Ben Barker
@ericastill Thanks Erica!

I have been running with Stride since it began as Run An Empire. It lost its way for while, but is now back to the basics, which are the really fun parts of the game! I love running, and Stride adds an extra layer of achievement to my runs. Plus, it encourages me to go running in new areas, and claim new territory, instead of running around the same park every time (although I need to keep running around my park as well so no one else steals it!). A great game, with new features being released regularly, so I would highly recommend it to everyone that wants to spend more time outdoors. My vote for the next feature is to be able to message other runners, so you can meet like minded people and create teams (not just from your existing friends). Well done to the Stride developers - all the best for the launch!!
Ben Barker
@nhowden Thanks Nick, what a really lovely bit of feedback

Sentiments from many friends and colleagues whom I've gotten onboard..one in particular stands out! "This (Stride) is just what I need to get me off my @$!" I already notice quicker launch times and smoother operability in version 2 and I'm excited to continue using it. Thanks to @ben_barker and the Stride team.
Ben Barker
@daximus Thats so great to hear - thanks for sharing it with friends
Thomas Yes
Hi. Its a awesome app and I support it as a paying user. Could you please add a sound or vibration when a hex i captured?
Ben Barker
@thomas_yes Thanks Thomas, that sounds like a good suggestion too. I've added it to our backlog

This looks very interesting. Unfortunately, I don't have a Garmin or Apple watch... Any plans for a Strava connection? That's what I use...
Ben Barker
@danischenker Hi Dani - if you're on iOS you can connect Strava via Apple Health. Or if you're using a different smart watch (Suunto, Polar) your better off connecting directly via Apple Health. If you're on Android then we're going to be integrating Google Fit in the coming months.
Dani SchenkerπŸ‡¨πŸ‡
@ben_barker I don't use any watch at all... I only have Strava on my Android phone for my walks. Not big watch fan, hehe. Cheers
Ben Barker
@danischenker Ok, then you might need to wait until we have Google Fit integrated
Clement Bernard
Nice idea! Is it working in Europe (french here)?
Ben Barker
@clement_bernard1 Yes, it works everywhere
Johannes Pittgens
Hey ?makers, is Stride limited to a certain region or does it work globally? Is there any way to integrate data from my tracking apps (e.g. Strava)? @fariz_hakim check this out!
Arttu Haho
Gotta give this a try now when I switch from XC skiing to running! Looks like a funny idea! Congrats! ?makers
Ben Barker
@arttuhaho Hope you enjoy, skiing is coming soon!

Mislav Kuzic
Great app, been using her for a couple of months for hiking and walking. Good way to combine a little bit competition and fitness.
Ben Barker

Mike Allender
This app is life changing, I'm so glad that I discovered Stride, it's the Strava of 2022. Stride has got me (and the whole family!) out and about more and the timing couldn't be better with the spring weather starting to hit. Love the updates and responsive team, looking forward to it continuing to get better and better!
Ben Barker
@skipples Thanks Mike, good luck out at GDC later this month!
