@benkingntu Not really. They built Atlas for entrepreneurs everywhere. Stripe is a startup-focused company more than a developer-focused one.

In a word: liability. Platforms that use Stripe are ultimately responsible for any losses due to fraud. By not allowing users to charge directly (they also discourage it via the Dashboard) they're putting a layer between themselves and any potential losses.
I love how Stripe keeps adding value without leaving their core competency. Textbook strategy for growth and execution.
@edwinwee do you need to use Stripe as a payment provider to use Elements or can this be used just to acquire the data transmitting them to another entity to process them?
@edwinwee @sliver86 You wouldn't really receive any benefits from using Elements if you don't use Stripe as a payment processor. The advantage is that you don't have to worry that much about PCI compliance - you just insert a few lines of code and let Stripe take care of hosting the credit card inputs in an iFrame. They'll give you a token that only you can use that allows you to charge the card through them. Basically, it makes easier to use Stripe, but it doesn't help for other providers. Braintree has a Drop In UI, a similar solution https://www.braintreepayments.co.... Open source solutions like Skeuocard http://kenkeiter.com/skeuocard/ can work if you don't use either. Still, you have to be very mindful of PCI compliance if you send credit card data to your servers.

I've been integrating stripe with client products for a long time now and this is a nice addition.
Pros:Easy to integrate
Cons:Not much really
Will this integrate with Shopify Payments in anyway on the Shopify platform since it’s powered by Stripe?
Bonus: Landing pages are always a joy to browse.
Pros:Quick and easy integration with excellent documentation. Very helpful for someone who has never worked with online payments before.
