Hello Producthunters! šŸ‘‹ My name is Andrii Romasiun, I'm 20 y.o. frontend engineer from Ukraine and the creator of Swetrix. Me and my team have been working on this project for 1.5 years. āš”ļø Swetrix is an ultimate, opensource and privacy focused Google Analytics alternative. If you have a website, you are probably wondering: - How many people are visiting it? - Where are they from? What devices to they use? - What pages are trending and what are not? These, and many more, questions Swetrix is able to answer. It's super easy to set up (or selfhost if you wish) it. ā“ Why Swetrix if there is [name any other web analytics service]? Yes, there are indeed a lot of great web analytics utilities on the market. Some provide more features, some provide less. The point of Swetrix is to become a 'de-facto' tool every website owner will use. As for now, we do provide all (if not more) the features our competitors do. Need to track unique visitors? Easy. Teams support? Email reports? Data exports? Boom, done! Timezones? Browser extensions? Here. Swetrix is growing every day, a team of greatest developers are working on it. This year there will be a few huge updates like custom extensions marketplace and a few more (keeping it a secret for now, but trust me, it will be revolutionary in the privacy-focused field). In short, our features include, but not limited to: āš”ļø Super easy to use, simple and fast dashboard. šŸ“¦ Track your custom events, with unique and bounce rate metrics included. šŸŖ Fully cookieless yet powerful tracking platform. No need to use Cookie / GDPR banners on your website anymore. šŸ“Ø Detailed email reports and GDPR data exports. šŸ«‚ Project sharing and teams support. šŸ—£ Supports many different languages. Dark/light themes too! šŸ’Ø Lightweight tracking script (about 3.5 KB), hosted on a CDN. šŸ”’ 2FA support. šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ŗ All the data is stored and processed on servers in the European Union. šŸ“– Fully open source and self-hostable (via Docker) code. Available on Github - https://github.com/Swetrix. šŸ“• And much more..! Try it yourself and make sure! Our project's roadmap is public and open to feature proposals and contributions. I will be happy to answer any of your questions! The feedback is highly appreciated :)

I understand the USP, but for a non-technical user, how does this differ from Google Analytics in terms of features? ps. your app looks beautiful
Andrii Romasiun
@ajaym0 the main difference between us and Google Analytics (especially their universal analytics) is that they use cookies to track people while we don't. The cookie usage is bad, because it enforces people to worsen the UX by showing some cookie banners and even is restricted in some EU countries https://isgoogleanalyticsillegal.... In terms of features, while being cookieless we support such things as session (unique users) tracking, shared projects (teams), customisable email reports, 2FA, browser extensions, notifications, data exports and soon to be extension marketplace! Google and us have different approaches: we are a paid service (with a free tier of course), while Google is free (but you're the product. Google is a privacy nightmare). Eventually we won't be limiting our service to web analytics only, there are other features in development like website status checks. Hope this answers your question:) Happy that you liked the design.

beautiful but why when we have google anlytics n so many other tools? upvoted for the design šŸ˜Š
Andrii Romasiun
@naveed_rehman thank you for the upvote, happy that you liked the design. Unlike GA and some other tools, Swetrix is fully opensource, selfhostable, cookieless and privacy focused web analytics platform. We have all the features our competitors do, plus we focus on some killer features like extension marketplace (which is currently WIP), browser extensions with alerts, some features like 2FA and so on. In general Swetrix won't be limited to analytics only, we're also planning to support things like status pages and more while focusing simplicity. Also there are already some restrictions regarding the Google Analytics in some EU countries, check out https://isgoogleanalyticsillegal.... Eventually we want to take Googles market in the analytics domain :)

Great service, sick design. I was wondering though how are you able to track unique visitors without using cookies?
Andrii Romasiun
@kruzhambus thanks for the feedback. On the server side we gather users IP Address and User Agent. This data is used to detect whether the page view is unique or not. We DO NOT store neither IP Address nor User Agent as a raw strings, such data is stored as a salted hash for no longer than 30 minutes or 12:00 AM UTC, whatever happens first. After this timeframe the identifiable data is forever deleted from our servers.
