Switch helps Shopify stores earn more money through price A/B testing. They can determine the right price to earn the highest revenue. Big eCommerce firms, like Amazon, use price A/B testing for their in-house products daily and thus earn more.
@puppycodes that's a great question! Couple of things we've done to mitigate something like this:
1. From our initial adopters we've learnt that merchants need something like this while introducing a new product on the website (a new product can be a variant or a combo - anything) - since they're not sure what to price it.
2. We maintain cookies - which makes sure a particular user is seeing only a particular price
3. Since, the merchant is already figuring out the correct price they don't put this in other channels (like FB, Instagram, etc). Once, the experiment is over and the merchant has decided on the final price (basis analysis from the experiment), they then put it on other channels.
Can you share more details on what information comes with the analytics? Curious if there's a price/against volume of sales chart to help identify the right price based on profitability?
@punit_shah3 Yes, for now we've given a basic analysis on what price is performing better by measuring the price v/s volume of products (sold for that particular price)
Hello hunters,
We have been building this Shopify app for some time - iterating it according to feedback from early customers.
Users can now enable and test prices for their Shopify products.
Our vision is to arm eCommerce stores with the right tools in their path towards growth and help them fend off big companies like Amazon along the way.
As Tobi Lütke (Shopify Founder and CEO) puts it “Amazon is building an empire, and Shopify is trying to arm the rebels. So maybe some of our customers might compete with Amazon, at some point, but that would be like super cool, and we’re not there yet.”
This is one small step in that direction towards helping D2C brands.
We'd love to hear your thoughts and any feedback!
@david_dutt Currently, it's for testing your product prices within Shopify and determining which one is performing better. We have plans on including other product attributes in the future.
@david_dutt please let me know about your use case - so I can check if this will be useful to you. Thank you!
