Using the latest A.I. and cloud technology, Catapult allows you to translate your texts up to 3-times faster than usual. Additionally, it keeps the same formatting and design as the original document. Works with over 60+ different file types.
I'm using the OmegaT to translate a book right now because I didn't find a tool where I can translate for free when it's a non-profit project (I'm sharing the translation on the Internet for everyone for free). Will your pricing plans cover this kind of needs?
@gogola Hey Ivo, thank you for showing interest in Catapult! :) This depends from case to case, but unfortunately we currently don't have a non-profit plan available yet. However, we can connect and talk more about your project, if you'd like.
Very cool! AI translations are usually cringe :D Looking forward to take this tool for a spin, since my clients have very good experience with the company's translation services.
Hi @matic_uzmah1! Thank you for the support! Of course! You can turn off your computer, take a break and continue translating when you feel like it. All your processes will be stored, and you can pick up from where you left off.
Peter hello, we offer a free package, so you can try out Catapult instantly. Currently our free package is limited to fixed 500 words. We are actively working on making a recurring free package with which you’ll get 500 free words each month. Check out our plans.
Hi @benoit_chambon, thank you! To answer your question about the difference between Catapult and DeepL:
Catapult and DeepL are two different services addressing different audiences in the first place. But honestly, it is a fair question, so let us dive in!
Comparing the two, Catapult enables you to build your private translation memory (TM). Now, for those who haven’t come across the term translation memory, it is a technology that “remembers your previous translations and stores them”. This way next time you are translating, Catapult will with help from TM offer sentence suggestions and significantly shorten the process.
In addition, with Catapult, you can create your own glossary and have the access to Public TM. Above all, a document format is preserved. You also don’t have to copy and paste a text and there is no character limit.
@benoit_chambon@tamara_unetic And to be even more precise DeepL only provides you with a Machine Translation output. But Catapult allows you to translate entire documents, segment by segment, all the while retaining your file format. So once you're done reviewing the Machine Translation output, you get entire documents already formatted exactly as they were when you uploaded them.
Basically, one only provides you with a translation, while the other is a full-fledged tool for translating documents, websites and other content.
It all depends on how many words you translate in a month. You subscribe for a package that has a limited number of words available. Every project you decide to translate with Catapult will count against your quota with total words found in the files.
You can choose from 3 different pricing packages. Each package includes a limited number of words you can translate in any given month.
We also have a free tier, if you just want to mess around a bit and try it out.
You can find detailed pricing information on our website. 😊
Hi Product Hunt Community,
my name is Matija Kovač. I am a co-founder of Catapult and Taia Translations, and I am super excited to share Catapult with you!
The world is becoming more and more globalized. This calls for high-performing translation services, agree?
If your job is translating, be it as an in-house translator or a freelancer with tons of work, we at Taia translations have an exciting solution for you!
Catapult, our new cloud based translation tool using the latest A.I. technology. It will help you make your translation process 3-times more cost and time effective. Being cloud based also means that your documents are safe and sound all the time.
The process of using Catapult is easy as a pie! Simply upload your document choosing among 60+ file types, translate and download it. Above all, the formatting of documents is preserved intact!
For an even more effective translation process Catapult suggests phrases from its translation memory. Taia’s professional translators and your previous translations make sure of that.
Automatic translation memory helps you boost your productivity and consistency. How? The system recalls results from your past translations. Every user gets their own translation memory built according to their preferences. Your privacy is top priority, so your translations are yours only!
How great is that?
So, try it out and let me know what you think! I am here to answer all your questions and concerns regarding Catapult. Special thanks to David Kevin William for hunting us!
Cheers!
Matija
@matija_kovac Looks awesome! Would be happy to discuss collaboration as we in need of such tools for our plagiarism detection software- noplag.com. Let me know who is the person to talk to. Congrats on the launch 🚀🚀🚀
?makers thanks for sharing it with the Product Hunt community. I'm sure our global community members would love to test it. I really like the formatting preservation part.
Can you share some figures for the translation accuracy as well?
@adityavsc Hi Aditya,
the translation accuracy really depends on the language pair you are translating. It works best for European languages and might produce a (near)perfect result if translating simple, easy to understand content.
That said, please keep in mind the quality of the machine translation also depends on the quality of the input content. So if your source text is written in slang or with many grammatical errors it might come out a bit wonky. But if your source content is written well, you can expect a fairly decent result in most cases.
And this is where you come in - this tool is intended to post-edit a machine translation output and not to solely rely on one. We believe in the help that technology can provide us, but we are also aware of the limitations automation has compared to a human.
BTW: the more you translate using Catapult, the more translation memory database you will build. And if you translate similar or repetitive content a lot, you previously stored translations will be pre populated already, thus improving the overall quality of the suggestions.
@fran_lopez_torres Thank you for the question! :) It's the same answer as what's the difference between DeepL and Catapult. (seeing that both Google Translate and DeepL are online translators). I'll paste the answer here, so you don't have to scroll up to find the answer :)
