Taxfyle is an on-demand platform that connects you within seconds to a tax expert. Simply create a user profile, answer a few simple yes/no questions and your personally assigned credentialed tax expert will connect with you and file your taxes! They do all the work.
Taxfyle 2.0 will now let you get a quote for your business or non-profit faster. Getting your taxes shipped off to your licensed Tax Pro so you can focus on what really matters. They now support business returns, have a way larger Tax Pro base, use DC/OS server clustering to be able to handle larger volumes, and have incorporated ApplePay. Taxfyle now has a web app that integrates with the iOS/Android app, so you can handle your return from any device seamlessly.
I confess to putting Taxfyle through a few painful "tests" -- sorry, guys. Ordered a biz return and asked the tax pro 5 or 6 repetitive questions.
Poor guy. But he calmly and correctly answered and didn't give up. The answer was that in this case I needed a personal return, not a business return.
Next I got on chat and asked how the company tested their tax pros, implying that mine was meh. Permission to review the transcript was requested and granted.
Although there was nothing to apologize for, my complaint was handled in old-school Neiman Marcus/Nordstrom fashion. (It's rare for a company this young to understand that customer service means the customers you intend to keep are always right.) My refund was processed immediately, a final plus.
All signs point to filing with Taxfyle this year. I will be, if I haven't been banned forever.
@kkdub thank you for bringing a smile to my face. How about a lifetime pass to Taxfyle! Very happy the team and your Pro was able to sort out your tax situation, no matter the complexities.
It might be useful to put a range of prices on the website. Some people might not want to download the app just to get an idea of how much it will cost
@matthui Thanks for the feedback Matt. The beauty of our product is that it'll price everyone out based off their tax complexity, and its the first to do so. Since everyone's tax position is different we don't want to mislead people or bait and switch them. Even though our pricing starts at $49 it would be unfair for someone with a business to think that they can get their business return prepared and filed for $49 by say a CPA.
@lavinaricky when you say pricing starts at $49 you mean that's only for State? My quote is $157 which is way way more than how much my CPA asks ($90). Mine isn't complicated either, just a W2 from my summer internship. So if I pay $157 to taxlyfe I assume somehow the return will be max?
@amin_nazim Thanks for checking us out. I can't say what work your CPA is quoting you for but here at Taxfyle we have dynamic pricing so you're priced for all the work needed (state and federal) and always below the average market rate. We also have great promotions going on through mid February. Simply hit the Help button and one of our staff members would be glad to share what coupons are available.
@evannite this is a completely different product than Turbo. With Turbo you do your taxes yourself and here you simply upload your docs and a CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent will prepare and file them for you. So Taxfyle is like a tax firm in your pocket. The app does provide a free upfront quote so download it to check out your fee. Also ask for a coupon while signed in, we have a few promotions going on.
@lavinaricky Got it, thanks! My quote read $99 for federal, and $49 per state, $4 service fee and $5 audit protection.
Signed up and working with a Pro now. Getting some upload errors but other than that I'm enjoying the process.
@evannite excellent, for larger files its best to upload through the Web App https://app.taxfyle.com . So you can go from iOS or Droid to desktop and back seamlessly.
How sophisticated is this? Is it more for people who work a single job, and their taxes are pretty easy? Or will it work for someone with more complex taxes? The past few years I've just given all my paperwork to the same person who does my parents' taxes, but now that I'm out of school, I'll be on my own, and it's looking like a mess with all the stuff I had going on in 2016.
- Part time job as federal government contractor
- Independent contractor (1099) for a bit
- Misc income from sideprojects (Adsense, etc)
- Full time employee towards the end of the year
- Section 83(b) election for startup/stock
- 1098e for student loans
What would be the best option for me that could cover all this fairly easily?
@sleumasm Hey Mitch, since you're always paired up with either a CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent the tax issues that can be solved are of the highest complexity. We've found out over the past two tax seasons this product solves the most problems for either small business owners, freelancers, active investors or complex personal taxes.
@gabriel__lewis and we would love to do them for you on demand! You can upload any files you want to your folder PDF. Excel etc. via your cloud provider like Google Drive, iCloud or Dropbox. Also working on a doc scraper to important directly from 3rd parties. The update should be live this season.
I just want to say that I just used Taxfyle for my taxes and it was fantastic. I'll never go back to TurboTax. The mechanism for signing documents was a little buggy but everything else was smooth sailing. Took about 30min of chatting with my CPA, uploading documents, etc. He was helpful and explained everything, and then he filed everything for me. I've been getting e-mail updates from him as my returns are accepted by the IRS, etc. It was comparable in price to a CPA where I live, and so much more convenient.
This is TaxFyle's second tax season. Last year their app was selected by Apple to be featured by the app store. It really is a great way to get your returns prepared by a qualified CPA conveniently and inexpensively.
@kwcto is objectively a fantastic developer and a great human being. If he is involved, I know my private data is secure.
Best of luck to TaxFyle this tax season!!
Used TaxFyle for my taxes for the first time for 2017 taxes and had a great experience. My situation is not straight forward as I am an Australian citizen who moved to the US and so I had to complete an FBAR and my consultant advised me of my filing requirements.
I have now referred TaxFyle to my other team members! Thanks for a seamless service!
