I look forward to this list every year. One of the most thoughtfully curated lists out there. Well done!

Breakout List is your “guide to high potential & high growth startups.” We help engineers, salespeople and other people in tech accelerate their learning and career trajectory. Investors know lots about the potential of a given startup - they’ve likely seen or been told their private financial metrics. Candidates deserve better information on companies. They’re betting their career. YC President Sam Altman: “If you join a company, my general advice is to join a company on a breakout trajectory.” Wealthfront CEO Andy Rachleff: “All our advice on Silicon Valley careers is based on a simple idea: that your choice of company trumps everything else. It’s more important than your job title, your pay or your responsibilities.” A16Z founder Marc Andreessen: “Apply this rule when selecting which company to go to. Go to the company where all the action is happening.” Gmail creator Paul Bucheit: “Most startups are s**t. There’s a few of them that are really exceptional, and if you land at an exceptional one, you can do really well. If you randomly pick something, you’ll probably have a bad time.” We don't claim to have perfect information - yet. And we don't think you should apply just because a company is on the list. But, check out the list and you'll find some cool companies to look further into.

Thanks for building Breakout List @chrisbarber 🙏 I loved reading it last year so I was looking forward to this year edition 👍 As someone currently looking for an internship, this list is super useful! Curious what exactly the determining factors are aside from the obvious. But either way this is great. If I were looking to join another team I would make this my go-to list for sure!

Pros:

Great list. Can't wait for Stark to be on the 2019/2020 list!

Cons:

Can't seem to think of any. It's just a great list.

Oh and this is so true!!!! "Gmail creator Paul Bucheit: “Most startups are s**t. There’s a few of them that are really exceptional, and if you land at an exceptional one, you can do really well. If you randomly pick something, you’ll probably have a bad time.”" Love it ;-)

Interesting list, the only thing missing is a direct link to the site's listed. Kind of annoying to have to google them or copy their domain from the e-mail address.

Does it have any way to sort companies that hire non-citizens from outside of their home country? I'd be interested in that.

Always great to see this list Would appreciate a list/drop-down/filter for the list though It's hard to sift through 2 columns and infinite rows...

As long as this stays generally unbiased, I'd love to see how this evolves. Have you thought about making a sortable table? Looks like you have a plan to tag with metadata and such.

Somebody really wants us to be hyped for their cryptocurrency... I'm not sure such a thing has a real right to be on this list, when all they offer to the market is a form with an email input as of now... What a lame way to push your sh#tcoin's agenda...

Looks great! I wish I knew about it when I was applying, earlier this year. I'd love if you could also put locations of the companies on there. That's always a big factor for me in applying.
