How it works: The Whiteboard Owl uses computer vision technology to enhance the view of the whiteboard for remote participants. When in use, the Whiteboard Owl’s proprietary Whiteboard Enhance software increases clarity, reduces shadows, and makes the presenter transparent so writing on the board is always visible to remote participants. It also automatically captures high-resolution whiteboard images so meeting participants can follow along and download notes to keep collaborating when the meeting ends. The tech specs: The Whiteboard Owl supports whiteboards up to 15’x20’ in size and can be set up within 7-16 feet of the in-room whiteboard. It can be mounted on the wall, ceiling, or a tripod for greater setup flexibility. The Whiteboard Owl’s camera has 1080p output resolution to deliver clear images for remote participants, and it can be easily activated by flipping over one of the included magnetic Whiteboard Tags that users place in opposite corners of the whiteboard. In the hybrid world we are living this is a game changer. The owl team are execution machines. I have had the pleasure of knowing them from the very early pre funding days and always impressed by them!

It's a great product! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time However, it's pretty expensive. Why do I have to buy hardware? Isn't it possible to implement this as just software working with regular high-quality webcams?
