This is one of the first big publication partnerships Medium's done (IIRC). More details in @jyarow's article in Business Insider from Feb this year. I'm super curious to know more of the details in how the deal is structured. @billsimmons and team are putting a ton of trust in Medium, from a distribution and revenue perspective.

Really interested to see how long The Ringer stays with Medium. I think it makes sense for them to get a quick start for their web presence (their newsletter already has 200k+ subscribers I believe) but think they ultimately move away when things pick up and they require more customization. Thoughts?

@ryangilbert i think it's an interesting move for them. even as they scale, the partnership allows them to focus on writing and creativity

Interesting, and love the collaboration with Medium! (and the Sacca episode which is πŸ’―)

No idea who Bill Simmons is, so the tagline means exactly nothing to me. Apparently it's a blog.

@tombielecki Created Grantland and had the initial idea for 30 for 30 at ESPN, prolific podcaster and sports reporter. Has a penchant for finding (and keeping) writing talent around him.

Thrilled to see Bill Simmons landed somewhere long term. After a quick look it has somewhat of a grantland feel but still very unique

Huge Simmons fan here. Very excited for the new site and collab with Medium. Has @randfish or the SEOMOZ team put out any thoughts on this new experiment by Medium? I'd love to hear what they think about businesses having a Medium blog compared to other CMS systems (Wordpress, Tumblr, Squarespace, and so on).
