Thrive is a new kind of productivity app that will help solve some of the problems that stand between us and our most ambitious goals. It can help visualise decisions, split goals into actionable steps, save ideas and more.

For the past few months I've been working on a productivity app that I hope will help solve some the issues that prevent us from achieving our biggest goals: • tackle your most ambitious goals Make your goals seem less monumental and vague by thinking of the steps required to achieve them and working on one at a time. • save and organise ideas Save all your big ideas and quick thoughts throughout the day. • visualise your hardest decisions Make big decisions more manageable by visualising the impact of each option on the parts of your life you care most about. You can also use it to take notes, get automatic stats on your progress and more. I would love to know what you think and I plan on continuing to develop this based on the feedback I receive. I've already saved all the feedback shared as comments and there's also feedback board here: https://thrive.feedbear.com/boar... (FeedBear are a great product for making feedback boards)

Android app?
Cristian Moisei
Hey @johndesk27 As I was saying earlier, if the app does well enough, I'd be happy to look at bringing it to Android, but I'm not an Android developer myself so that's not planned for the near future. I am looking at a Mac release though.
Kevin Reevers
Any plans with a web/computer companion app?
Cristian Moisei
@kreevers Hey Kevin, I have no plans for a web version right now but I am looking at a Mac version in the future.
Nathan
@kreevers @cristianmoisei Please build a Mac version - I’ve fallen in love with Thrive this past week, but I would love to have running on Mac with syncing to mobile. Awesome job Cristian.
Cristian Moisei
@kreevers @nathdigitech Hello Nathan. I’m very glad to hear you love the app. A mac app is definitely on the roadmap, I’m working on iCloud Sync right now then I’ll look into bringing it to the Mac. I’m going to be posting about new features here, and you can also use it to suggest new features: http://get-thrive.app/feedback/
Cristian Moisei
@kreevers @nathdigitech I cannot promise a timeline though, since I’m just one guy and I’m by no means a seasoned developer. p.s. if it’s not too much to ask, leaving a review would really help in these early days.
Joey Gidseg
One suggestion would be to let us give ourselves less than a day to accomplish a small goal, like sending an email we’ve been putting off - there are a lot of small goals like this that I have, but the only options are 1 day or more
Cristian Moisei
@jgidseg Hey Joey, that’s an interesting suggestion, and I’ll definitely keep this sort of approach in mind. When I designed it I imagined bigger goals so there aren’t a lot of features like that. When you create a goal You can set ‘how much do you need’ to one day, but it won’t send a reminder or anything, again because it’s meant for longer term goals. But I will keep it in mind. Thanks again.
Joey Gidseg
@cristianmoisei thanks for thinking about it. I was excited when I learned about it and intended to use it to break up same day, smaller projects - which can seem insurmountable especially when there are a lot of them. It COULD potentially become a type of assistive tech for folks who are neurodiverse like me and have difficulty "chunking", which is what this is doing. Additionally, I could see a teacher using this to help students who need help chunking as well.
Cristian Moisei
@jgidseg I see, that makes sense. Could I ask for one more thing? Just so I can understand what this feature would look like, could you give me some examples? There's a contact form on the site where you can reach me privately. https://get-thrive.app

Very well executed, I hope it helps and I keep using it :)
Michael Karlström
I can't find it in App Store and I just get redirected back to get-thrive.app when clicking the app store button on you homepage. Seems like it isn't available on the Swedish app store. Are you planning to make it available?
Cristian Moisei
@michael_karlstrom Hey Michael, the app should be available anywhere in the world. The only thing I can think of is the fact that it's age restricted to 12+? Maybe you have some filters on? But I just checked and all countries are ticked, including Sweden. I realised the link on the website has /us/ in it, so maybe that's the issue? Lastly, another way to try if nothing else works would be to go to my dev profile here: https://apps.apple.com/us/develo... (or search for one of my other apps Grammar Fix or EQ Playbook). Let me know how it goes.

This app has an amazing premise, and I think it's really thoughtfully built and designed. Aesthetically, the app icon and UI (not to mention the website!) really are convincing in and of themselves (for me) to get on and try this app. Conceptually, I've tried approaching big life goals in different apps (Notion, Things, just-about-any-GTD-with-subtasks), but as in financial management, visualization is a really helpful tool when making a decision. You could actually have a workshop on this! Looking forward for updates and a roadmap (if you can). Cheers!
Tem Nugmanov
I've tried making this happen in Notion with a hybrid Bullet Journal but haven't stuck with. Will give this a shot and see what happens :) I was also thinking of digitizing the Passion Planner. Tried out LifeWheel and the onboarding process was a turn off so deleted it 😞 Curious, did you use any specific thought system here? Like GTD, Eisenhower Matrix, etc..?

Looks promising!

No love for android?
Cristian Moisei
@jake_tran Hey Jake, unfortunately it's not about loving Android, it's about the fact that I'm developing (and doing everything else) myself and I've never made an Android app. I was approached by an Android developer who would be interested in collaborating on bringing it to Android and that's definitely something I'm considering in the future, but right now my focus remains iOS since that's what I know how to do.

No android?
Cory Decker
Your landing page convinced me to check this out. Well done. Mind my asking who wrote the copy?
Cristian Moisei
@senorcodecat Hey Cory, I'm glad you like it. This is a one man project so I've done everything, including the copy.
Cristian Moisei
@senorcodecat thank you.
Cristian Moisei
@senorcodecat Yes please, let me know how it goes for you. On the website ( https://get-thrive.app/ ) there is a page to keep track of new features being developed and suggest new ideas, or you could just use the contact form to get in touch.

Just got the app! I was very excited, then I realized after entering info on my iPad Pro, there is no sync feature, so when I went to use my iPhone app, I was super disappointed. It’s 2019 if an app doesn’t sync on iOS it’s useless. Hope to see updates
Cristian Moisei
@harktheory Hey Robert, thanks for your feedback. iCloud syncing is at the top of the list for features to be developed and you're not the only one to ask for it so I'll be working on that next. I can't tell you how long that will take right now since it's not as easy as just flicking a switch and I want to make sure the iCloud syncing system is robust enough that there's no risk of conflicts or messing up your data when something goes wrong (i.e. your iPhone uploaded something a few minutes after you made an update because it had another background task and your iPad has a different change). I'll be sure to share an update when I start working on this and when the new version is ready.
RobertMax
@cristianmoisei thanks for the reply, I definitely think it has a lot of potential, and it is beautifully designed. I just wanted to share my feedback here rather than on the App Store. I know it takes a lot of work. I’ll be giving you a positive review on the App Store, definitely want this to succeed for you, and I know how important rankings are.
RobertMax
@cristianmoisei I take it back apparently I can’t leave one while in iOS 13 beta lol, but I will soon.
Cristian Moisei
@harktheory I'm definitely grateful for that.
Cristian Moisei
@harktheory Yeah no worries.
Davide Morra
Will this app come out for Android? @cristianmoisei
Cristian Moisei
@dav48 Hey David, if the app does well enough then yes. I’m not an Android developer myself but someone already approached saying they’d be interested in collaborating on an Android version. I also have plans to bring it to the Mac later in the year however. In the meantime, if you know any iPhone users that you think will like this, let them know. It’d be a huge help.
Efimov Ivan
Do you plan to support Android platform?
Dinesh
Looks like a real deal. I see the fresh perspective put in to our modern problems. Beating procrastination, working on our goals/ideas and taking big decisions. I am impressed with the designs and user experience. Great start. I am sure there is lot to come. And finally, I appreciate your business model (Hard to take decisions when dumb apps are charging every months) Without a second thought I bought it.
Magnus Larsen
Hi I bought the app because I thought the design looked cool and I liked the idea. There are definitely a lot of good things. However, I find myself missing a simple to-do list, for the smaller things in life that I have to take care of on a daily basis. I'm not sure if this is in-line with the overall vision of the app, but it is definitely something that would be nice to have instead of having to switch to another app.
Cristian Moisei
@magnusbl Hey Magnus and thanks for the feedback. I imagined this app as being meant for big goals and tough decisions and for todos there are definitely apps that do it better, but it wouldn't be too hard to do either and I haven't thought about it from your point of view (it's simply easier to have everything in one place). Would you mind adding this suggestion here? You can also use this page to keep track of upcoming features and what I'm working on at the moment: https://thrive.feedbear.com/boar... Right now, the focus is iCloud and several fixes for iOS13 as well as some small bugs people discovered, but as soon as I finish that, I will start looking at ways of making the app more useful. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts, I want to make this an app that works for its users and getting this sort of feedback really helps.
Magnus Larsen
@cristianmoisei Hi Chrstian and thank you for the detailed response. I did think that that was probably what you were going for with this app. However, I value simplicity a lot, and I definitely think that a todo-list of small daily productive tasks that can not necessarily be classified as goals or ideas fits within the vision of your app. Like you said, it does not have to be anything super advanced. Just like a basic list of things like e.g. doing laundry or whatever it might be.
Cristian Moisei
@magnusbl Thanks Magnus. I think this is a good idea then and I will keep it in mind. As I said right now I am focusing on building iCloud Sync, but as soon as that is done, I will look into this sort of experience improvements.
Michael Alvarez
Inspiring. That's how I'd summarize this app in one word. I really appreciate how this app goes into the "why" and gives you thought-provoking examples and tips on how to achieve your goals. Can't wait to see what's to come. Love it.
Cristian Moisei
@michael_alvarez That's great to hear Michael. Up next I'm working on a small update to fix some remaining iOS 13 issues and then a lot of people have been asking for iCloud syncing so I will be working on that next, and then in the near future I am also looking at bringing it to the Mac.
