ThunderAIChat — Unlock your creative potential with ChatGPT on macOS

Hi there! I’m the founder of ThunderAIChat, a productivity app for macOS that’s designed to take ChatGPT to the next level. I love ChatGPT and use it for writing blog posts (For my iOS development course website). Open AI designed the web interface to be as simple and easy to use. But once I start using it a lot, I was so frustrated with the limited user interface. I wanted to create a tool that would make it easier to brainstorm ideas and write AI-generated content, while also providing advanced features to help guide and correct ChatGPT. I am originally a physicist and have a Ph.D. (specialisation in photonics and micro-fabrication, I guess I am most similar to Lenard from the Big Bang Theory and on a good day like Sheldon 😅). I like making things and coding. That is why I switched to iOS development. When I learned about ChatGPT, I liked to question everything and try to find new and innovative ways of using it. Two of the features I am most proud of are: - you can edit responses from ChatGPT. You can rename or cut out things. Because I am sending the full conversation every time. ChatGPT will see only what I let it. I can correct it directly. Feels like a superpower 🦸‍♀️ and is often more effective than using additional prompts. - hide parts of the previous conversation. There is a 4k token limit. Most apps simply send the last 3k tokens. This was a weird solution for me. I don't want to control your chats. So I turned the problem of "what the hell do I send back to ChatGTP" to an advantage - It is now a feature. I like when I outsmart the system 🤓 After each message you can find a toggle. Simply hide the message, and the app then does not send this part of your conversation back to ChatGPT. This helps with extending the 4k limit. But also makes ChatGPT more focused. If ChatGPT goes in a direction you started earlier and you want to redirect it, simply hide certain messages. It also can help when ChatGPT repeats itself a lot. I wanted to make ChatGPT better. My app also includes: - advanced search filters to help you find the best ideas ❤️ - change the model settings to get the output you desire. - prompt library ⚡️ - folders and nested folders - text highlighting to mark the best ideas from ChatGPT 📋 - tags for easier search 🔑 - a menu bar extra for easier use from other apps I believe that Thunder AI Chat is the ultimate productivity tool for anyone who wants to brainstorm and write better content, faster.
