Hi all πŸ‘‹ We're Nick, Patrick, Philip, Sebastian, Sven, and Timo from tiptap.dev. Building collaborative editor interfaces in your app takes a lot of work and time. That's why we've made Tiptap, a suite of open source tools and cloud services that allows web developers to build sophisticated content editing experiences in their apps much faster. Need a lightweight rich text editor? Use Tiptap. Creating the next Notion? Use Tiptap. We would love to hear your feedback and join our welcoming community on Discord: https://tiptap.dev/discord and GitHub: https://github.com/ueberdosis/ti.... Cheers ✌️ Team Tiptap

@philip_isik Congratulations on developing Tiptap! This open-source suite is a game changer for web developers.πŸ”₯ Tiptap makes content creation easy and saves time and effort. Good luck to the Tiptap team!πŸŽ‰ Great job!πŸ’ͺ
Philip Isik
Thank you so much for your kind words @antonikozelski πŸ™

Tiptap is the best open source editor out there, and extending it is surprisingly easy. This allowed us to stand up a pretty awesome editor at my company in less than a week, with features that none of our competitors had. Inspirational and also super cool that this comes out of an open source collective. Def try it!
Philip Isik
@therealomardiab Thanks for sharing your positive experience with Tiptap! πŸ™
David Davidović
Playead around with HocusPocus (their open source toolkit) and the docs are really amazing. Good suff!
Patrick Baber
@geomaster, thanks! Can we find your project or a demo you have built with Hocuspocus somewhere?
Zeno Rocha
Tiptap is super cool! Definitely the next-generation editor for the web.
Sebastian Schrama
@zenorocha Good to hear, thanks! What do you think we need to add to Tiptap to be the editor of the next generation but one? 😁
Philip Isik
Thanks @zenorocha! I look forward to seeing tiptap work in resend as well :-)
AndrΓ© J
Love the design! Is it possible to share who uses it? Any famous apps out there? I assume Notion has their own framework.
Sebastian Schrama
@sentry_co Yes, Notion has their own framework. Let's see if they'll use Tiptap in the future. :) You can see the apps who are using Tiptap on the penultimate slide here and on our website.
Karthik Kamalakannan
@sentry_co We use it heavily at featureOS (https://featureos.app). We found TipTap to be super useful after moving from other editors like Slate, TinyMCE, Draft, and Editor.js. We even created our own back in 2019, but it was super hard. When we tasted TipTap for the first time (when they were in beta), we fell in love with it. Especially with the way it works, and the ease of use.
Gustav Ekerot
@sentry_co We use it for tabOS(https://tabos.cloud), feels like a cheat code for building out a fully-featured text editor in no time 🀩, and at the same time, it's so easy to modify it to your own liking.

I'm super excited about Tiptap's launch and can't wait to try it out myself. Great job, team!
Joe
We've been using it for the last year! Highly recommend! πŸ‘
Stef Roussos
Tiptap is the best text editor IMO. I've been using the Mantine UI wrapper for tiptap for my last project (@mantine/tiptap). The new AI features look really cool!
Sebastian Schrama
@mantine @stro_co Thank you, Stef! Would you expect Tiptap to offer UI as well?
Stef Roussos
@sebastianschrama_tiptap Yes, an optional UI package could be helpful, especially if someone wants to build something quickly or is getting to know the platform. But the core packages being unstyled is great if you're building something complex / custom.
Ahmed Saleh
You know @philip_isik , I've been using TipTap (the editor) since its very very early days. It's been quite amazing to use. But your tag line now say s"building collaborative apps", I'm curious why the change in direction? my guess is going for bigger and higher impact? Either way, congrats man!
Philip Isik
Thanks for your kind words @ahmedsaleh! We believe that real-time collaboration on content will become more and more important, and with Tiptap we want to give developers a platform to build these applications! Of course, you can always use Tiptap without collaboration πŸ™‚

Congrats on the launch, I love TipTap! I reviewed a bunch of editing libraries before picking TipTap to build https://duckbook.ai Things I love: nice high-level interfaces to customize behavior, can write my own plugins, interactive node views are powerful, and it's built on ProseMirror (so you can pop the hood to a lower level if needed). Overall, I've been really happy with the choice, and building a slick Notion-like editor product has been fun :)
Hadi Farnoud
I love Tiptap. hope it was cheaper to build on or there was a total open source edition
Patrick Baber
@hadifarnoud, thanks for your feedback! With our editor and the collaboration backend Hocuspocus, a large part of our code base is open source. It's a challenge to release something for free to the public and on the other hand generate revenue to make the development of the open source core sustainable for the future.
Hadi Farnoud
@patrick_baber I totally understand Patrick. Hopefully we can switch later to Tiptap when we make more money
Varun AP
Probably the best editor out there for any product πŸ’― Used it a while back and highly recommend.
Patrick Baber
@apvarun, we give our best. Thanks! πŸ™Œ What will be your next project with Tiptap? πŸ€”
Varun AP
@patrick_baber Nothing at the moment. But I sure know where to look for if I need the best editor experience πŸ˜€
Sujeet Jaiswara
Is this compatible with angular?
Patrick Baber
@sujeetjaiswara Tiptap is framework agnostic. You can use it with every JavaScript framework you want. A guide for Angular is missing, but we currently have guides for React, Vue, etc. You can find it here: https://tiptap.dev/installation
Thibaut Nyssens
Congrats on the launch! Love using tiptap in Cycle πŸ™Œ
Sebastian Schrama
@thibautnyssens Thank you, Thibaut! What do you currently miss the most in Tiptap?
Dinesh P
Used this with vercel it’s going to revolutionize text based editing
Preet Mishra
Best in class. The developer experience is unparalleled!
Patrick Baber
@wickedmishra thanks for your lovely comment! What was the last project where you used Tiptap? Do you have ideas for using collaboration and our brand-new feature AI?
Preet Mishra
@patrick_baber I have Tiptap at work to power a simple rich text editor. I have not explored the collaboration and AI yet.
Patrick Baber
@wickedmishra, right now the AI features are only available in the paid plans. We do make exceptions for some early adopters. Just drop us a mail πŸ˜‰
Bjarn Bronsveld
Awesome once again! Tiptap is my go to editor in apps πŸ™Œ
Patrick Baber
@bjarnbronsveld, how many apps have you built with Tiptap? We're curious! Do you have any links for us? πŸ˜‰
Garen Orchyan
Congrats guysπŸ‘
Alex Doda
We’ve been using Tiptap for a few months and it’s one of the greatest pieces of software in existence at the moment.
Karthik Kamalakannan
So good to see TipTap launch a paid plan. Totally worth it. We have been using TipTap as our main editor (OSS version) for a while now at featureOS (https://featureos.app), and it has been the most comfortable and stable implementations we've ever done.
Patrick Baber
@imkarthikk thank you for your support! How long do you use Tiptap? BTW, featureOS looks promising! πŸ‘
Karthik Kamalakannan
@patrick_baber We've been using TipTap since Q1 last year. We're now implementing for our other product (helpOS) which heavily relies on real-time collaborative editing using HocusPocus. Can't wait to show it to the world soon. Here's a preview: https://twitter.com/imkarthikk/s... Please hit me up if you need to hop on featureOS to start collecting feature requests for the new TipTap. :)
