Toasty is a live platform designed to gamify event networking to make it fun and inclusive. It brings people physically together to connect through fun icebreaker group activities.
๐๐ป Hi all, this is Kevon, co-founder of Toasty (http://toasty.ai/). You can probably guess why weโre building this product โฆ all because networking (aka meeting people in general) has been boring and unstructured ๐ซ at most of the events and gatherings.
We're a team who believes that meeting people can be fun ๐ and not awkward (oh yes we're not alone in this...). Over the months of refining Toasty, we learn that people intrinsically want to meet and connect with each other, but they need a bit of help - who should I meet? What should I talk about? Where should I start? And often it is very hard for event hosts or community leaders to do anything about it because of the limitations of their time, manpower etc.
We decided to help by building a tech that is like a game, and it does not only bring people together, but it also helps them knowing each other. We see that this is the best way to make new friends - nothing complicated, just genuinely connecting and having some fun.
So after putting people into groups (in the video), here are a few examples of group activities we have built to bring people closer:
๐Group Response - The group can submit a text or image onto the big screen and everyone can vote for the best.
๐Conversation Cards - The classic icebreaker cards! Everyone gets to pick a card and talk about it.
๐Who Said That - Everyone answers a question and guesses โWho said that?โ to earn points
We have a Freemium model because we want people to enjoy this fun tech at different events, meetups, or gatherings without worrying about paying.
Finally, we're still an early-stage startup so learning is the key. We would love to hear your thoughts on 1) Do you understand what Toasty is about? 2) If you run events or gatherings, do you find this useful? 3) What are some areas we should improve on or explore further? ๐
And weโre also excited to meet like-minded people ๐ฅ who share the same struggles (whether you're hosting or attending), we hear you! I heard it is good to offer something to the PH community, so if you sign up with this referral code (91261ECB) personally from me, it will unlock Pro plan features that we're adding every week.
๐ป Cheers and thanks, everyone.
