Trove is a social microblogging platform for people who value curiosity, learning, and sharing. We enable creators and hobbyists alike to create, curate, and monetize their impact. We believe informing, not inflaming, is the key to a healthy community.

I think down the line this will become the perfect replacement to traditional social media, but right now it works as a necessary complement to it. Most social apps are very limiting, whether it’s character count, linking restrictions, format of content, chronological linearity, etc which stands in the way of building a comprehensive profile. Trove has build a compelling space to bring it all together, to cultivate one’s personal passions & professional pursuits thanks to its product design based on layered organization + multimedia plug-ins to curate content and tell richer stories. I personally use it as a digital scrapbook, as a private journal, as a free personal blogging space, one that brings value for me & for others, one that I keep coming back to, not because an algorithm sucks me into it, but because of how good it feels to cultivate and collect your interest, as diverse as those can be minus the stress & noise of traditional social.

Hi there 👋, Product Hunt community! My name is Max and I am the founder of Trove Collective. **What we believe** Social media has become the anti-social media. We believe that technology can help us live happier and more fulfilled lives—but a radical shift is long overdue. To connect, people compete with each other for ever-shrinking pieces of distracted attention. In fact, many companies specialize in that very thing: Distracting us on screens. Using advanced algorithms, they aim to keep us mindlessly watching, liking, scrolling... **What we are doing** Trove is on a mission to make social media more human and blogging more accessible - it is a social blogging platform for people who value curiosity, learning, and sharing. You can cut through the noise, curate your knowledge and passions, and learn from the sources you trust. From favorite book recommendations to life-changing ravioli recipes, you’ll find all of the things you love, without the distractions. Creators on our platform can be professional travelers, chefs, and musicians but they can also be individuals sharing gardening tips, favorite restaurants, and career advice. Trove is for the things that make you, you. No ads. No comments. No judgment. **How it works** * When you create an account you immediately have your own public website and a profile to start building your Trove of insights, passions, and recommendations * Trove plugs in to many of the major media platforms, making it easy for you to embed music, podcasts, google places, YouTube videos, and more * We’ve designed Trove to make organization as easy as possible AND to make it really easy to pull up content you’ve previously subscribed to or saved on Trove. * We want Trove to be healthy and powerful space to build out stories and insights. To do so you can make content private or public, you can build collaborations with other users, and we remove comments and ads to quiet the noise. We are still in private beta, so we have a code TRVE11 that will allow the first 200 users to sign up with this code to join our community of 1200 Trovies! We look forward to your feedback and your contributions to this positive approach to social media.

Congratulations!!! I have been using Trove as a beta user and really love it. I think it is an impactful tool to organize, collect, curate, and create for so many things in my life. It brings it all together. I also like discovering other peoples collections… especially food recipes and travel tips. It will be fun to see this community grow.

@simon_s_j thank your for your support! We actually have a web app that has about 70% of the functionality. So we don’t publish the signup on our site but I’d be happy to give it to you if you’d like to check it out and you can use code TRVE11 😊. We would recommend just using the web version from a desktop as there are further optimizations to make for mobile web. Here you go: https://app.trovecollective.co/w...

@max_bevan Sorry to ask here but signed up and have two questions (1) I can't find how to search (2) is there a help/community/support area yet to ask questions :)

@simon_s_j Hey Simon, no problem! re: 1 - the web is pretty limited right now so we don't have search or your 'Activity' page where you can see updates from content you subscribe to. re 2 - feel free to email me at max@trovecollective.co with any other questions that may come up!

What I love about Trove is that it takes me back to what the internet was about in the early days before all of the noise, the memes and the trash talk. My Facebook feed died when it became everyone from my parent's generation posting things I don't care about. My Instagram feed died when the meme accounts I followed posted more often than my friends. My Twitter feed died when bots took over. My Reddit feed died when every post became about getting the most upvotes. Trove is a refreshing shift. It's an opportunity to discover new meaningful content from other humans that matches my interests. Trove is more focused on me and my curiosity, as opposed to focusing on content that ignites a divisive conversation. Not to be too on the nose, but Trove is where you go to find the treasure!!

@bfar thank you, Bryan! You said it beautifully!
