Best Tools for Logo & Icon Design? 🎨

by•

Hiyaa everyone!

What’s your weapon of choice when it comes to logo or icon design? With AI tools getting smarter and design software more powerful than ever, I’m curious—are you team AI-generated concepts, or do you stick to traditional tools like Illustrator and Figma? Maybe a mix of both?

Would love to hear what’s worked best for you. Bonus points if you’ve got something cool to show off. Let’s talk shop. 🚀

I'm planning to build one at bilgu.com and offer it with SVG/vector downloadable version as well. What features do you think are needed for such a tool?

@m4jor Cool project! Hmmm I’d go for AI-powered logo generation with full customization—easy tweaks for fonts, colors, and layouts. Real-time previews on merch and websites would be a game-changer, and SVG/vector exports are a must. A one-click branding kit would be sweet for startups. Excited to see where this goes—what stage are you at?

@lunastudioco Thanks Chelle, for your valuable input and insight into all the features that you would need, I will definitely inculcate some of them while building.

It's still in early stages, I will let you know once I launch the beta so you can check it out!

I use a mix of both. I usually let AI generate the initial draft since its first sketches are truly impressive and often beyond my imagination. Then, with a human touch, it becomes more unique and highlights the strengths of the team. However, it feels like we’re already entering an era where AI alone can complete the entire process perfectly.

I think AI is best. Give him instructions and AI will make everything perfect accounding to your needs

I'm old school in that I still use @Adobe Photoshop . But for anything new where I need a logo quick and easy I generally use@Brandmark .

For day to day designing, I'm mostly in @Balsamiq Cloud which is then handed off to a real graphics person to make it pretty in Figma.

I started learning design in 2017 with Coreldraw, worked with Coreldraw for 4 years after that, so my choice will always be Coreldraw Graphic Suite. Next to Coreldraw is Adobe Illustrator.
