Why are there so few women in tech founder roles or in the tech sector overall?
I still can't help but notice that there are not many female tech founders.
However, I’ve observed that in some regions, such as India, more women are actively involved in tech.
Similarly, in the Nordic countries of Europe, women seem to have greater exposure to occupations that were traditionally perceived as "masculine."
1️⃣ Do you actively encourage women to take on management roles in your tech companies?
2️⃣ How can we contribute to supporting and inspiring more women to pursue leadership and founder roles in tech?
3️⃣ If your company has seen an increase in the number of women in management, what specific changes have you noticed in the results?
And Happy Women's Day! 🙂

Happy Woman’s Day! What you said reminded me of the gender ratio in the company I work for. In the R&D and innovation teams, the male ratio is indeed higher, and most of the leaders are men. But in marketing and finance teams, the female ratio is relatively higher.
I think the main reason is related to traditional gender roles and societal perceptions. In the past, it’s generally believed that men were more suited for technical fields, while women weren’t as favored in these industries. However, I believe this perception is gradually changing. More and more women are now entering the technology sector.

@evakk Yep – finance industry, administration, economic and marketing things = women
Tech, IT, robotics = men
This is the pattern I see.

@busmark_w_nika - From my guess, a lot of it comes down to access—access to funding, networks, and mentorship. Investors tend to back people who fit the same pattern they’re used to (aka, mostly men). Also, the tech world still has a serious culture problem where women have to constantly prove themselves. Until funding patterns and work culture shift, we’ll keep seeing this gap... that being said, there has been shift recently and larger importance being placed on it from a grassroots level.

@bradharrs True. E.G. In many countries (even European) where the people are more "civilised" – women are still paid less.

I am a female founder, raised pre-seed 250k in the UK and from my experience I see what helped me start:
Easier access to finance - for me it was relative accessible to raise in the UK as the government has some incentives for the investors
Mindset upgrade - I am in mental health/psychology space and this helped me improve my mindset so I can resist the struggles and not give up.
Advice from other female founders in needed. Not all advise from male founders apply to female founders;
The entrepreneurship journey in itself its quite brutal - but I still encourage women to pursue their dreams. The journey it's so transformational. And I hope more females learn to take care of their needs while having management roles.

@elena_opreag what was the most useful female advice you have ever been given?
Good question! We shouldn't look at 'what careers are better for women' with a gender bias, and it's true that there are more and more brilliant female tech founders and scientists, as Nika says!
I can see more female programmers and engineers in our workplace.Happy Women's Day! 🥳
I think it’s just a matter of personality. Men tend to be less afraid of challenges, which is why they try new technologies more and start businesses. However, these days, there are many progressive women, and their roles are expanding. It seems like we’re moving toward an era where capable individuals, regardless of gender, are recognized as leaders.
And Happy Women's Day, Nika!

@kay_arkain Thank you Kay! :D Do you have any favourite/popular female founder? BTW, you are right – males are probably bigger risk-takers :D
