The continued costs of Coherence development are high. I've polled users a number of times historically and pretty much all prefer the system we've come up with as opposed to a subscription, which is as follows:
Once a year, we release a major new update. You can choose to update to it, at a discount, but if you wish not to you don't lose anything from not doing, as we continue to offer technical support and bug fixes when necessary for the previous update for at least two years (so, Coherence X will be until at least May 2022.)

I. Love. Coherence. !!!! I use 10-20 coherence apps EVERY DAY! Can't wait to get version 4
From the moment I tried to an app, it was a disaster. There are errors about not being able to create an icon (their website says they HOPE to fix it). Next there was a browser error. Then after I finally created the app, I couldn't go back and make it a browser app because it wouln't save. That is insane for an expensive app.
