Hello Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Binyamin, founder of BZG and the creator of Unite. Today, I’m thrilled to introduce Unite 6, the most powerful update yet for turning websites into seamless, native-like Mac apps. With Unite 6, we’ve reimagined what a web app can be on macOS. A redesigned creation tool, app sharing, advanced tab control, and a dramatically enhanced Sidebar Mode put you in full control of your apps—blending the best of the web with the fluidity of a native Mac experience. And while Apple introduced its own Safari web apps in macOS 14, industry leaders—including the founder of 1Password and the Managing Editor of Apple Insider—have said Unite remains the superior solution. We’re not just keeping up—we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. 💡 What’s new in Unite 6? - A fully redesigned creation tool with a modern UI, quick-launch, and better organization. - App sharing—for the first time, send Unite apps to other Macs with a simple file. - Advanced tab control with pinning, locking, renaming, and isolation. - A more powerful Sidebar Mode for organizing and navigating your apps. - Command Center—rebindable shortcuts and new ways to control apps with your keyboard. I’d love to hear your thoughts, answer any questions, and get your feedback! Hunters get 25% off on launch week using the code "ProductHunt"! Plus, I’m giving away five free licenses in the comments—drop your thoughts below, and I’ll send codes to a few of you. 🚀 Let’s make the web more powerful, personal, and truly Mac-native together. Thanks for checking out Unite!

@bzg0515 I'm a long time fan of site-specific browsers (oh look! I wrote about them in 2007!) and find the current state of play both interesting and confusing when it comes to the delineation (and benefits) of this model.

Unite 6 seems compelling for someone like me, but what I really want (as I wrote in 2007) is a Boosts-like way to customize the visual and behavioral experience of apps presented as SSBs (maybe with something like Tampermonkey, etc). Does Unite support this?

Which rendering engine does Unite use, and how do you keep the filesize low (for example, Electron apps have gotten incredibly bloated!).

If you still have a license handy, would love to put Unite 6 through its paces. Congrats on the launch.

@chrismessina Hey Chris! Very cool. We do support user scripts and styles, but I do hope to do something more boosts-esque in the future.
