@jgani Super interesting idea! For messaging, allowing users to manage their preferences accordingly (allow/block DMs) could be a good place to start.

Also, when trying to access settings, I'm getting "We're sorry, but something went wrong."
@chrismessina Mostly color inversion, and a bit of CSS override. Please let me know if there are dark bits that don't look good. Should be able to fix them with CSS.

Awesome alternative to Dark Reader for PH. Is there any possibility to add GitHub login and perhaps even Magic Link?

But due to Sidebery and the hackability of the interface with CSS I use Firefox + Sidebery to get the sidebar with vertical tabs I always dreamt of. Is the Firefox extension coming? Please? 😁

I have installed this chrome addon, and it asks to login, and we have signup through social platform, How can I login if I have signup directly from Google then How to login into my account?
Can you suggest? and How safe to login in this chrome extension? what security is measured can you confirm?

I don't support Google signup for now, only classing username + password.
To enable streak reminder:
1. You'll have to create an account here: https://app.upperhunt.com/users/...
2. Go to Settings > Email Notifications > Product Hunt streak reminder (check it)
3. From the Chrome plugin popup, you need to enter your username and password to login

How does the streak reminder work? Sends a system notification or something else?

The Chrome plugin notes your visit to PH and sends a ping to the server (only once a day). If the day is almost finished, and the server hasn't received your ping, it will send you a reminder email.

@jgani, Big congrats on launching this great plugin! Loving the dark mode feature. Quick thought on the streak reminder—have you considered interactions beyond just visiting PH might be necessary to keep a streak alive? Some of us with long streaks learned the hard way. Excited to see how this evolves!

I saw a write up explaining that a full page refresh is required in order for PH to count as a visit, so the Chrome plugin was coded to reflect this.

No the Chrome extension doesn't use Product Hunt's API.
It just reacts to your browsing on Product Hunt, by sending a ping to the server, at most once a day.
The server is then configured to send a reminder email near the end of the day if it hasn't seen that ping.
