We essentially offer 2 ways to scrape data: 1. With real-time APIs, you can request data for a URL or input and receive the results within a few seconds. This is useful for real-time use-cases like shopping agents or real-time searches. 2. With scrapers, you can extract data from multiple pages (different listings from the same site or paginated data) with a single API call or a simple no-code interface. There is no need to deal with retries or multiple requests and the results can be sent to a webhook or downloaded as CSVs. With Unwrangle you do not need to download any software, or do any configuration at all. All our APIs and scrapers just work out of the box. They need an input and that's it. Another thing we want to improve over other options is maintenance. Web scraping is one of the messiest software use-case because sources keep updating and employing ways to stop us from scraping it. We're leveraging AI to help us keep our scrapers maintained and always available for use. Our pricing starts at $99 and usage follows a credit system. The starter plan comes with 100k credits and each record scraped deducts 1 credit. You are charged only for the data extracted.

@afrikjournalist Unwrangle operates within the legal framework, ensuring full compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection laws. On the contrary it's important to protect our right to be able to access public information electronically. Also worth noting that a lot of basic internet services wouldn't be possible without scraping data. I think that scraping contact details can be a different story but enough abuse will always cause laws to respond to that. Copying or cloning sites is another black hat practice. But scraping product information from Amazon to see how prices move or what people are talking about a product or getting it's images and the word creepy don't fit together.

Does anyone else feel like this is just another tool for scammers to exploit reviews, sure it's got some real-time stuff but isn't that making it easier for fake sellers, thoughts on adding some safeguards or limits?

@noteusgp Not sure what you mean by scammers exploiting reviews or what scraping data is making easier for fake sellers. Like any tool it is susceptible to being used by users with malicious intent. So far it's only brands using it to research data for their own products or AI companies using it to access public documents via LLMs.

Sure, this new API sounds promising, but honestly, scraping Amazon data has been around for a while, tools like Octoparse and Data Miner already do a solid job, will be interesting to see how this stands out or if it's just another one in the sea of scrapers

@balduino_sanches Great point. These are the things that make Unwrangle stand out: 1. It's quick and easy to set up. Unlike Apify, Octoparse, or Data Miner you don't need to download an app set up each scraper differently manually. The APIs and scrapers with Unwrangle "just work" and don't require any maintenance from users. 2. We don't charge for each piece separately i.e. virtual machine size, bandwidth, number of scrapes, etc. We have a simple policy to charge $99 for up to 10k pages. Credits are deducted only for successful tasks. 3. We have a focus on e-commerce and have out of the box support for websites the other products don't.
