@rrhoover - great question. Yes, UpLink can be used in many industries like accounting, tax, lending and others. It makes requesting a lot of docs (e.g. dozens or hundreds) very easy, no matter what type of document they are.

Congrats on the launch @alex_maher! Would love to see if this can work for our use case, but it seems like the website doesn't have any of the API documentation.
We'd be looking to embed the functionality with our internal and external tools as a part of our experience for our clients and advisors, so being able to see what's possible via the API is crucial.
Hopefully you can point to the right direction ;)

@beryl_b we are regularly posting on our blog and on LinkedIn for updates to the product. We are also planning on launching on Hacker News sometime in the next few weeks as well. As far as personal outreach goes, we have a good sized network on LinkedIn so making personal connections on that front :) Did you have anything in mind when asking that question?

🟢 What it is:
UpLink is document collection software. It’s primarily used by accountants, auditors, lawyers, and lenders. For example, we help the typical auditor collect up to 10,000 documents from dozens of clients every year, which they used to do through email and excel.
🔵 Why we built it:
Alex Grant and I started our careers in Big4, auditing some of the largest companies in the world. The worst part about that job was the back and forth with the client on all the documents we needed to gather, which was done over email while keeping track of status in Excel. It was painful for everyone involved.
Big banks and accounting firms have spent millions of dollars developing custom in-house solutions to solve this problem for themselves, and with UpLink, we're making that available to everyone.
🟣How it works:
1. Need lots of documents from clients? Create a project in UpLink and add document requests to specific individual assignees. Use Excel to upload in bulk.
2. Clients get an automated email with a secure link to upload docs
3. You’re notified with each upload and can approve or reject each item.
4. The dashboard updates in real time so you can track everything.
