probably the best product I found today. didn't try but video looks great. whats the monetization plan? is it gpt or openai? congratulations on the launch
@naveed_rehman Uses OpenAI. Plan is to understand top 5 tasks that would save people time and try to make it really easy to run for those, monetization will come after.

I'm building Upstream because I'm tired of looking at news, ads and SEO when I'm looking for information.
Upstream is a Chrome Extension that lets users easily run GPT on any website. It does the usual things like writing about a topic, summarizing and simplifying content, the difference is that it gathers context automatically from your Chrome tabs.
So instead of scrolling through the noisy web, fire up an instruction to only get what you need.
@pablofelgueres Wow I'm loving this, I tried it on this page with the prompt "Create a list of all the comments made in this post" and it worked!
Great product! Curious:
- Do you plan on expanding the list of features?
- How do you see this becoming a part of everybody's web browsing?
@metatanka hey! Still gathering feedback but the immediate improvements are 1) query suggestions based on URL, 2) searchable history of runs, 3) prevent model invocation if context is not good (saves credits).
Do you have any suggestions?
As much as I get distracted in the real world, I see great potential for this extension.
@jerome_lefebre It's already hard and AI will make it even harder. I hope this tool inspires many more to filter out noise.
@saasdesigner There's a few obvious things to add like presets and search history but want to listen to users.
this seems super useful, clears up the clutter and cuts out the distraction. Great idea. Can't wait to try it out.

@richard_gao2 Right, GPT will be used to generate noise but also to minimize it. I hope tools like Upstream inspire more of the latter !
