Massive shout out to @mwsiebel for hunting us!
Our mighty team of 5 engineers (me, @zkirby , @raysname, @m97v, @zlalvani) is super excited to launch Vessel, the OS for Embedded GTM Integrations. We make it easy for developers like you to integrate with your customer’s CRMs, Sales Engagement, Marketing Automation, Chat, Dialers, and more!
🤔🤔🤔 Why are native integrations a hard problem?
With the explosion of SaaS in the last decade, keeping up with the number of integrations your customers want is like the myth of Sisyphus. You’re forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only for it to roll back down each time. At our last company, we felt this pain firsthand. We managed over 100 native integrations and had 20+ engineers (>50% engineering team) dedicated to building new ones and maintaining them. Here’s what we constantly hear:
❌ Missing integrations: There’s always another integration a customer is asking for
💸 High cost to add a new integration: Engineers need to become experts in both the APIs and how the application works to correctly build out each integration.
👷 High upkeep: APIs are ever-changing and engineers need continuously monitor and maintain each and every integration.
👀👀👀 What is Vessel
That’s how Vessel came to life. A year ago, we launched our universal API for CRMs. In the last year, we’ve iterated on our product by listening to our users including folks from the PH community like @imatincr, @syamm , and @davidjwiner. We’ve continuously received requests for first-class support for objects specific to an integration, a managed ETL solution, customizable permissions, and more. The embedded integrations space is still very nascent and started coming to life 4 years ago. We believe the solutions today do not solve the pain entirely and universal APIs should be a tool in your arsenal as opposed to the arsenal itself. We’re excited to take our learnings and push this space to the next frontier.
With Vessel, you can integrate with GTM tools in different ways customized for your use cases:
🌬️ Speed: Integrate one integrate many. We offer a common data model and unified interface to read and write data across many apps.
⛏️ Depth: Use our actions API to build deeper integrations when working with entities custom to each app.
➕ Extensible: Our integrations are open-sourced. Any integrations you need, you can add and support.
👶 Ease: Use ETL to let us handle pulling and pushing customer data to your DB (Beta)
🚢🚢🚢 Say no more, how do I get started?
We’ve helped numerous companies like Ciro, Nooks, Sellscale, 4pm, Tackle, Salient, and others with rolling out their GTM integrations quickly. Check out what you’re missing and integrate with multiple apps in less than an hour.
1. Get your API tokens for free at https://vessel.dev
2. Use our drop-in auth component to allow your customers to connect their apps
3. Use our typed SDK to build your integration
We’ll be here all day to jam out on any questions you might have. From general questions about integrations to sharing more about Vessel, we’re excited to hear your thoughts and feedback. Thanks PH community!
As a startup, we definitely struggle with having to do so many GTM integrations. Super excited about this, I think this is going to really supercharge our workflow!
Congrats on launching Vessel! Super useful for seamless GTM integrations. Curious, how does it handle version updates in integrated tools to ensure compatibility? Excited to try it!
@nimit_mehra1 Thanks for the kind words Nimit! We stay on top of any changes to the downstream API and actively maintain our APIs so you don't need to make any code changes on your end. By using Vessel, you can build integrations faster without worrying about maintenance. We work in the background to make sure it all works.
Congrats on the launch of Vessel! It's great to see how your product addresses the challenges of native integrations in a constantly evolving SaaS landscape. The speed, depth, extensibility, and ease of use offered by Vessel make it an exciting option for developers looking to integrate with different apps. I'm looking forward to seeing how Vessel pushes the embedded integrations space to the next frontier. Good luck with your journey!
Congratulations on the launch!
We went with Vessel as our unified CRM provider at Summit and we definitely don't regret it. Top-tier developer experience, everything feels stable and solid, and an incredibly skilled and friendly team.
These new integrations are buzzing with potential and I'm excited to learn how this can make Summit a stronger product as well. Moving into the marketing tech space ourselves we definitely hear "What about integrating with XYZ?" all the time, and having Vessel as a partner here allows us to punch above our weight as a small team ourselves.
@pieterbeulque Thanks Pieter! It has been an absolute blast working with your team. Your feedback and the integration requests we get from your team is what pushed Vessel to what it is today!
