Very cool! Curious to know if you track any metrics around these teens' interest in Computer Science down the road. It probably hasn't been long enough but it would be awesome if you could say you increased the number of people choosing to take AP CS in high school or major in CS in college...

The Vidcode team is consistently coming up with new, fun ways get young people, and in particular young women, interested in coding. This contest is the latest such example.

As a female who studied CS in a large, public university, I definitely resonate with the imposter syndrome and even loneliness Vidcode is addressing. How do you think about bringing your program to co-ed schools/classes, since Vidcode is geared towards girls?

This is how I would would have loved to get introduced to code. Making something visual. Death to the terminal black jack exercises. :)

Those girls are going to change the way kids learn how to code. Looking forward to a world with more and better developers!

This is awesome! There needs to be more coding tools out there that pre-teens and teens actually want to use after they're done with the cartoon games.

Hi All! I’m Alexandra, one of the co-founders of Vidcode. Vidcode teaches teens to code. We're starting with making it really easy for teens to upload social media content, code it and share with friends. Instead of online course aimed at teaching the coding basics, we are appealing to teens by having them learn to create things they are actually interested in - like video effects, memes and Snapchat filters.
