Day by day, the world is becoming small for everyone with lots of cool applications having native audio/video communications, and interactive live streaming capabilities.
Some of them are helping you to interact with your friends, and colleagues or watching your favourite person live. Building these immersive experiences requires high-quality in-app conferencing and interactive live streaming.
Video SDK solves the same problem. It helps developers to build highly interactive and immersive experiences with our cutting-edge live audio and video SDKs.
๐ก ๐๐ก๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐?
We are building the most powerful and reliable SDKs. It has been developed by a developer for developers.
It helps you to build live audio and video interactiveness and engagement on steroids; High-energy collaborative sessions that participants love.
We believe that the future is immersive and building virtual worlds and virtual connections are just getting started.
Video SDK is the first choice of thousands of developers because of
- Cross-platform support for web and mobile devices ๐ฅ๏ธ ๐ฑ

@kevin@arjun_kava1 It's a trend that more and more APP start building in-app live streaming. Providing a cross platform and easy-to-scale solution is quite a great idea. Going to take a try in our development environment.
Congrats on the launch! ๐ ๐ฅ
@kevin@ming_xu1 True, It is really a trend and it is increasing day by day. We have seen much higher growth in 2022.
Reach out to us when you start with Video SDK.
Thanks,
An amazing platform that easily integrates into any application; plus, it comes with quick start guides, developer documentation, API/SDK, and features that make it standout from the competition!
I'm in the process of migrating off of Simple Peer for my app's live streaming (www.drooler.live) & cannot wait to re-launch it with a new kick butt live streaming experience for its users โ all thanks to Video SDK!!!
@sergio_villasenor Thanks a lot. Glad to hear that you liked the product and using it right now. Feel free to reach out to us in the community for any help in migration.
Great job team, congrats on the launch ๐ I liked your per use pricing model, it makes sense in terms of scalability when you have such a product. Good luck!๐
Phenomenal launch. Really interesting tool for any developer that wants to build audio or video applications. Congratulations to @jatin_savaliya , @arjun_kava1 and the rest of the team!!!
@arjun_kava1@jatin_savaliya
I have marketed audio and video sdk in the past and with that experience in mind I must say Video SDK 2.0 is BIG. Loved the features. And its so SMOOTH!!!!
Congratulations on the launch!
It's great to see all these players in the space, but everyone seems to have nearly the same billing model. All services we've looked at seem to suffer the same flaw of oversimplifying the billing model with participant minutes, where the participant minutes are counted per call. Most services realize this sucks, and then end up offering separate rates such as cheaper "audio only" calls. The catch is that you have to preconfigure the room to get the rate. In practice this means you never actually get the cheaper pricing when people turn off their cameras for the entire call because you had to configure a video room in case someone might turn on their camera at any point in time. Take another example, one person has video shared, the other 9 have only audio. You end up getting billed for everyone at the video rate even though 9 were audio only.
It's getting easier by the day to spin up Pion and run your own video service, but everyone seems to be basically copying the same flawed billing model that the big players use. When do the price wars start so it starts making sense to do something other than bring it in house?
@arjun_kava1 so far you seem to be running one of the few services that at least offers some tiers in the pricing that do map to the costs you'd see if you were self hosting (for example HD vs SD), which I think is a good start. That said, I feel like these services all forget they are utilities and try too hard to be something else.
What I'd like to see is more control over my costs. I understand that the way pion works for example you want to have all the participants connecting to the same node. I understand that you don't really know exactly what the resource requirements are going to be for the call, so enough CPU/mem must be reserved in case someone does decide to turn on their video, and you must allocate my room to a node with enough capacity for a potentially large number of people to join. But, by assuming a very specific scenario of zoom style rooms where anyone can join at any moment and anyone can turn their audio or video on at any moment, and building all the pricing and configuration around that scenario, you take away my ability to control my costs. What if, for example, I know exactly how many people can be on the call. What if, for example, I know that a max of one or two will ever have video on? Why can't I specify the specs I need for my room front (for example, 2 video encoders @ 720p, 10 audio encoders) and just have the pricing based on what I reserve, instead of trying to come up with some silly blended cost that assumes I don't know anything about what's about to happen?
Unrelated note, all of these services popping up are missing SIP connectors so something like Twilio or Ringcentral can patch in voice calls, which forces a lot of people to just keep using Twilio for the entire call instead of switching over. You don't need to worry about handling the land lines yourself, but at least provide a SIP connector so people can dial in from some other service and that service can connect to the room.
Happy to hop on a call any time and chat.
@jesse_ezell Ahha, interesting. Your points really seem valid. Loved the idea of taking the price of the video encoder and decoder, it won't be a good idea while explaining to business people but it seems good for devs.
Also, the SIP point is valid. It doesn't seem complex but mostly it is suitable in case of customer engagement compared to other use-cases.
Let's catch up sometime whenever you are available. I am already bought on all of your points, It makes sense.
Thanks for sharing.
@arjun_kava1, congratulation on building this excellent product! With @videosdk, developers feel good when they hear they've to work on a live streaming video module in a project.
