Joy helps couples plan their wedding from engagement to honeymoon and everything in-between. Couples get a sleek and modern wedding website, iPhone/Android app and a dashboard to manage their entire wedding in one place.
With Joy couples can:
- Manage their guest list
- Send Save the Dates, Invites and collect RSVPs
- Share their wedding details like story, schedule, registry, wedding party, travel details etc
- Capture their wedding photos from everyone's point of view and have a live slideshow at reception
- Send push notifications with important updates to all their guests
And guests can:
- Access all the wedding details on the app
- Get driving directions, save events to their calendars, book hotels/flights
- Meet and connect with other guests at the wedding
- Get helpful notifications like parking locations, dress code etc.
Joy is totally customizable to match couple's wedding style. It has granular privacy controls and it is extremely modular so the couple can just use what you want and leave out what they don't.
We at Joy truly want to modernize wedding technology, hope you share it with your friends who are getting married.
@vishaljoshi Nice!
Funnily when I was 16/17 and had 'dreams' of starting my own company - I started working on something that was essentially this - one stop shop for weddings.
Obviously this is executed beautifully! Really dig it :)
Also with so many guests at a wedding, having their collective input with pictures etc in one place is an awesome idea.
Whats next for the Joy team?
@bentossell Thanks much for the endorsement. Next, we are focused on making Joy feel like a bridesmaid or a very close friend who is by couples side throughout their wedding journey and understands the context to do things which would feel magical. For example, she would remind the couple that "Hey it is time to send out the invite" or "It is time to book your photographer". Maybe even softly nudge the groom that "There are exactly 3 months left to the wedding, I am sure she will appreciate a gift ;)" or to tell a guest coming from San Francisco to Seattle that "Don't forget to bring a coat, it might get chilly".
@bentossell Also even in this day and age it is fascinating that the entire guest management and RSVP problem has not been solved well by anyone, that is the immediate focus for our team right now. Sarah at TechCrunch, who is getting married very soon described what we are immediately working on very well take a look at her article if you get a chance https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/1...
Great execution guys and girls. Please add integration to send out those fancy paper invitations for the more senior guests of the party and you are all set.
This is exciting! I never understood why couples have to plan their own wedding. Weddings are supposed to celebrate couples, not make them miserable! Glad that Joy is correcting this!
@kjer Thanks, KJ! Interestingly, theres a small but impactful subset of Joy users who are using Joy to plan family reunions, anniversaries, or girls trips! Next time you are trying to orchestrate an event, Joy might just be able to help
Love the Idea, Really cool interface. When I see the word wedding in front of my eyes, first, thing my mind thinks about is India, huge market, is India in the roadmap?
Congrats on the launch, it seems well executed. Must be a fun (and good) market to enter. I imagine "money is loose" when people are getting married, can you comment on the monetization strategy going forward?
@kierantie Thanks Kieran, and if you have friends getting married consider giving them the gift of Joy (pun intended) by helping make their wedding planning even easier!
Looks great! I was looking for somewhere to send videos, perhaps I didn't find it. I thought it would be great and much more personal to be able to send a video-greeting if you're not able to attend rather then having someone read it for you.
This is actually a very cool service! I wish it was around when I got married last year. Although I did create a custom website for my wedding and it had a nice personal touch, it took too much time. lol

Anyway, great job team!
@jadlimcaco That's a great looking site you've got there, I really like the Dr. Seuss quote too. We are constantly trying to make creating a wedding website as easy as possible. With Joy you can have yourself a fully native app and responsive website in 2 minutes, easy.
@mark_jude_hurley Congrats on your recent engagement, Mark! We can't wait to see your Joy site come together! Let us know if we can help you in anyway :)
This is good and well executed.
Just idea for feature:
1. Add Instagram integration: you can import pictures from Instagram as moment. It'd would be awesome if you can link Instagram Hashtags, so all photos uploaded can be streamed to my wedding moments
2. On mobile version, when I see it at the very first time, I don't recognize My Moment as collection of pictures (gallery) before I tap the picture.
I think it's better to show it as Gallery of Image rather than a single image (I'm using iPhone n Safari as browser btw)
Anyway, love to see your product.
Hey @ranggawiseno! Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback. I'll add a feature improvement for the app's home screen – I can see how we're doing our gallery a disservice for jumping immediately into the slideshow. Nice catch :)
PS. Instagram is in the pipeline. We'll let you know when the update gets added!
@ericodes btw Erica, I've been using your product for a while. I think it'd be great if I can share invitation in graphic format (rather than in text n url format).
You can add QR Code or Short URL in the image which will redirect to Joy and also put some Joy branding (Made with Joy) since it's free. ;)
Fantastic! I've put off creating site for my wedding because I never found anything that I like. Joy is super! I love the UI, the cross device capability, the responsive website. As a founder of three technology companies, I can see that a lot of hard work, care and thought went into Joy! Great work. I'll keep you posted on how things go! I expect it to be great. My thoughts so far. The invite code: Can it be personalized (or personalized per guest?).
@resh Hi Resh, thanks for the love! I am going to screengrab this and share with my design and engineering team, we have been grinding away so I am glad it shows.
We are in the middle of upgrading a lot of our guest-facing invite and RSVP experience, so the invite code is high on our list. Even better than custom codes, we are working on custom links, similar to Slack's "magic link", hopefully eliminating every possible excuse for not RSVPing on time :)
We love the user feedback! Feel free to keep 'em coming either here or to our hello@withjoy.com account.
@clare_monahan@withjoy Congrats! Great work. I just picked up the invite (beta testing it before i roll it out to guests today). Some feedback 1. My fiance's work email blocks images. So there the download button/images to the App/Play store don't show up. She clicked an image on her iphone and it took her to the play store. You may need to add text/explicit links. 2. How do I add "Admin" user's so they can login and modify/edit/manage for example our wedding planner and my fiance will need access...
Hi @resh ! We have a Guest Management update coming soon, but in the meantime, help.withjoy.com/knowledgebase/adding-editors/ might help you out with adding your planner and fiancee as admins.
And good point with images getting blocks on email. Made a note for the team :)
