That is super original ! Voice messages are so popular these days, Vocal is a good way to insert voice messages in the professional environment. Congrats!

I think the solution is brilliant @gansernathan. Any plans to include automatic transcription in the future? Something like Descript or even Youtube automatic transcribers. I'm sure there's an external API that you can find that would enable this.
It would be especially useful for longer messages, so you could view the text version generated by an AI.

@avidnote No plan for now to be honest. Many people suggest the idea but most of our superusers don't actually ask for it ;)
it's also a bit of a tricky feature privacy wise. We really like the fact that your voice messages are never sent to our servers.

We recently made it to 1'500$ in total revenue and also reached 1'500 signups, which means it was time to share Vocal with the world!

SOME MORE INFORMATION
- It works in a super private way: we record your voice message locally and attach it as an .mp3 file to your email. Your data is not stored anywhere.
- There is a free plan to send voice messages up to 1-minute and a paid plan if you want to go above and beyond
- The UX for listening to voice messages is super simple as well. No app required. People can just click on the mp3 file to listen to it in the browser. On mobile, it opens automatically as well depending on the device and version (on Android, users have to choose their default app the first time, but that's it). Only issue is with Outlook (of course :P) where the audio message has to be downloaded to the desktop.
- Next feature would be a mobile app to be able to send voice messages on the go (so that you can look in front of you while walking!). But we need more revenue first to be able to finance this :)

@milkers Thanks! We hope you'll enjoy it! We haven't built such a feature because there is always this time when it makes a mistake, and even if only 1/100 words is wrong, it's still too annoying :)
@milkers It would also require us to send the voice messages to a server, which makes it less private :/ Another reason for why we don't want to build this :)

@mattcrail Thanks! Not on PH that much usually but I thought that we had reached enough of a PMF to risk it ;)
The B2B use cases that we see the most are:
1. support agents wanting to be more personal/efficient.
2. VIPs who want to reply to their fans/customers with a special personal touch
there is also a big chunk of people in Spanish speaking countries who like communicating over voice much more than text it seems :)
voice messages are great and easy to send, but over-time content starts to get lost.
does the product do transcribing and search to find relevant comments in the past?
@alona_cardoso Not at all, still very early. We're waiting to get pulled into certain directions by our customers :)
I think this will replace some short notes we want to send across quickly and save us time also, also I would like to thank Founders to bring in such a handly and easy tool which we all thought should be there part of our daily email needs.

I just needed this, whatapp got me addicted to voice explanations. Even slack lacks this feature, great one

@otman_alami the receiver actually can :) it works very well in Gmail. There are some issues with some Outlook accounts though.
