Damn, that's a steep pricing ladder: From free to $2,499 USD per month!
Amine Bellakrid
@joshuapinter Hi Joshua, We are serving only teams for now, please check @philipp_berner comment on pricing in the conversation. Thank you.
Nicolas Filzi
The motion design video on the landing page is 🔥 Any plans on bringing the same no code testing tech to web apps at some point?
Amine Bellakrid
Hi @n_filzi, We are currently focusing on mobile including mobile web. we do not intend in the short term to get to web apps.
Amine Bellakrid
Thank you @pierrevalade for hunting us! Hello hunters, I am Amine, co-founder at Waldo. We've been hard at work improving our platform and implementing new features. Waldo the first no-code testing platform that lets anyone on your team create automated mobile tests: zero coding skills required. Instead, Waldo understands how the screens on your app are structured and the logic that connects them so to reliably replay your tests against every new version of your app. Check it out for free at waldo.io and start catching bugs. Pro tips: - 🦟 We love to play catch the bug. After you record a test, upload a new build with a bug and see if we catch it - You can add assertions to each screen and make sure your UI is rock solid - We've implemented deeplinks to give you more control over specific states.* We'd love to get some feedback on the design, onboarding and overall experience. I'm also happy to answer questions!
Robin
@amine_bellakrid looks interesting! Will give it a try when I am in need for testing. All the best :)
Andrea Cavagna
The product looks great, but 3 test for a single user are really not enough, maybe another pricing plan would be great! Btw I love the presentation video! have you used any tool?
Amine Bellakrid
Thank you @andrea_cavagna! as we are scaling our infrastructure we need to be mindful on how we allocate our resources as a small team :) Happy to discuss how does an individual plan looks like to you.
Idris Mokhtarzada
We've been using Waldo for a few months now. Very impressive how simple it is and how it just WORKS! Keep up the good work, @amine_bellakrid and team!
Amine Bellakrid
@idris_mokhtarzada Happy to help truebill ship a stellar mobile app! thank you.
Thomas Mester
Look cool, but the price... 3 tests is not enough, unlimited tests $2000/mo! $2500 if not yearly. I cannot see a freelance paying that. Not to mention you don't have Android.
Amine Bellakrid
Hi @hotgeart. Thank you for your feedback: 1- We released a plan for teams and business only as it has been our main focus as a small team. Happy to discuss what an individual plan would look like. 2- Android is coming up soon. Stay tuned. Thank you!
Philipp Berner
@hotgeart Even if Android is not public yet, as a beta user, I can tell you it works really well. Also if you think about being a freelancer, $2000/mo is not that much if you bill it to your clients with a reduced hourly rate. It also offers you a level of quality control that you usually don't get when you hire freelancers. Not to mention, it's a revenue stream from your clients that goes past your initial development time, as you can offer it as "Ongoing".
Philipp Berner
@amine_bellakrid might be interesting to have a freelancer plan at some point where that allows freelancers to bill it through to their customers and maintain it. Similar to how Weebly has a white label solution for web designers.
Amine Bellakrid
@philippberner I like the idea. The more we are moving forward and growing the more we will offer to the community. We are committed to help all teams ship better apps. Stay tuned ;)

Thank you @pierrevalade ! It was really exciting to work on the new version of Waldo, looking forward to seeing your feedback! If you want to learn more about Waldo, here is our last blog post: https://blog.waldo.io/now-anyone...

WOW, love the possibilities of this product! Congratulations! Please consider a plan for freelancers and small businesses. Pricing is definitely steep, I'm sure worth it, but steep.
Philipp Berner
@Keepsafe we have been using Waldo for the past 1.5 years while in closed beta. It's an absolute game changer!!! We run over 350 UI tests every release across iOS and Android. Right now we're in the middle of a rewrite that we roll out in parallel to the existing app. So we just tested all the functionality in the rewrite too, to make sure the entire app in the previous version works and in the new version. Impossible to do this as a startup just in code or with manual testing!
Amine Bellakrid
@keepsafe @philippberner We are proud to help @keepsafe ship better quality app. Please keep your feedbacks and features coming! We love it.

I'd be interested in knowing the significant differences to testing tools such as espressotest for android, which also allows anyone to create tests without writing a single line of code. Not sure how this can be called the first no code testing tool. Aside from that espressotest is free, so doesn't cost $2000 per month.
Amine Bellakrid
@aulig Espresso is scripting. please check their documentation: https://developer.android.com/tr....
Jan
@amine_bellakrid Hi Amine, Espresso has a test recorder with which you don't need to write any code/script anything. You simply tap through your app and add assertions (doesn't require writing code yourself either).
Amine Bellakrid
@aulig the recorder relies on scripting, it just generate scripts for you, great helper to not "write" code the first time, if something fails you will fix the scripts at some point. Totally different from Waldo: we do not use scripting AT ALL, 0, Nada! :) https://developer.android.com/st...
Jan
@amine_bellakrid Yes, that's correct. Well you have to have some sort of script in the background which defines the test case, right? So basically your product is a test recorder and a further abstraction which makes tests easier to look at/debug?
Amine Bellakrid
@aulig that is not correct. we do not have scripts in the background. our technology is NOT based on scripting, we will share more on this later. tldr: no scripting, none in the test creation, none in the replay of tests, none in our technology. thank you.

Hi Product Hunters, the team at Waldo just launched a no-code testing platform. It lets anyone on your team create reliable automated mobile tests right from your browser and replay your tests automatically every time you upload a new version of your app. It tells you exactly where things went wrong so you can ship with confidence. I've seen their technology and product take shape for the last two years and it's insane. Look them up.
Ali Karagoz
We've been using Waldo at mojo for the past year and I have to say it's a game changer, it would be hard to ship as much as we do without it. They are also very receptive to our feedback and support is top notch. Congrats for the official launch 👏
Amine Bellakrid
Thank you @alikaragoz and the mojo team for your amazing feedback and helping us shape waldo.
Lyn Chen
Amine + team - this looks amazing :) Who made your explainer video? It's beautiful!
Amine Bellakrid
@emmettapps sure thing Emmett, can you please send a DM? Thank you!
Ritesh Ranjan
@amine_bellakrid Really great product. Currently, our company is putting efforts to automate the testing of Android apps using Espresso. Is there a chance we can get access to alpha/beta version of the android version?
Vincent Jaouen
Thank you @pierrevalade ! We worked hard to deliver the first no-code mobile testing platform. We would love to get any feedback on the product and the experience!
Rob Phillips
We've been using Waldo for over a year now and it's been really wonderful, both in design and in execution / performance, but also coupled with the superb customer support and desire for feedback from their product team on ways to improve. I've written thousands of UI and unit tests over many years now—using alternative methods—and I'd never want to go back to only writing code-based tests. Code-based tests will always be disconnected from how the consumer actually uses an app and it introduces too much flakiness from setting up state/mocks or using dependency injection in code or maintaining generated test code from UI recorders. Not to mention, now engineers can focus on writing business logic and the QA team can help in parallel with testing and regressions. We still have unit tests for lower level logic, but Waldo powers all of our integration testing and sits prominently at the top of our release checklist as a go/no-go checkpoint for stability and regressions. Waldo tests the app like a consumer actually uses it, and we can test across many device types and operating systems as well which is great. They show us exactly where tests break in terms of both the UX and the UI and they even catch a lot of race conditions that we aren't able to find locally but that customers experience in the wild. Their product team is quite great and I really look forward to seeing where they take this since, in my opinion, this should become the gold standard for testing in the future. Apple should even use this in app store reviews to speed things up, and if I were Apple I'd consider buying the company outright and integrating it into developer tooling. It's that good.
Nicholas Lee
We've been using Waldo now for a few months and its paid for itself already just in regression testing time. Really well built product and highly recommended.
Amine Bellakrid
@nleeflipgive this made me happy. Thank you for being great customers. Thank you!
Nicholas Pilkington
This is an extraordinary tool. I think this represents a much needed step change in the capabilities of mobile testing.
Amine Bellakrid
Thank you @nicholas_pilkington! We hope to be able to work with Drone Deploy soon!

I loved the alpaca's head in the thumbnail! Just for that, you won an upvote
Amine Bellakrid
Haha @mybutler. Hilarious :) Llamdo our mascot thanks you!
Calum Webb
I think Waldo wins as the product with the cutest thumbnail gif this week ;)
Amine Bellakrid
Glad you like it @calum. What an honor!
