Hi PH, I'm one of the makers of Waypoint and we're excited to share our new product with the community (thanks for the hunt @mwseibel). Adding data-rich email notifications to software in 2023 is still a pain. If you're a software developer or product team that has had to send emails, you know this pain all too well. Building templates in your codebase feels like building websites in the 90s and current email builder tools are repurposed marketing email builders for templates with little to no dynamic data. This means getting data into branded templates and setting up logic around them (eg. delays) still requires significant code within your code base. Additionally, existing tools are lacking from an observability standpoint which makes it difficult for developers to test and debug. We simplify all of this by allowing software teams to build, orchestrate, and monitor email notifications with a developer-friendly API paired with a great toolkit. While it’s easy to hate on emails, the truth is that emails still act as the ‘glue of UX’ (https://www.usewaypoint.com/blog...) for most platforms and it is often the key to onboarding and engaging users.
