You can now get the weather forecast directly into your calendar. This local weather calendar uses emojis ⛅️ 🌧️ ☀️ 🌨️ to display a 16 days forecast from OpenWeatherMap. Enter you city, adjust according to your preferences and subscribe to your calendar.

Definitely well done buddy!

Hey hunters! 👋 Do you often need weather data when planing a photoshoot, garden party, trip for the weekend or just love to follow the weather, then this could be for you! I made this simple weather forecast for your calendar, it gets weather data from OpenWeatherMap and makes a all day event with a weather emoji 🌤  🌧  and the tempreture for the next 14 days. It has support for C° and F°. I aimed to make it simple, but would love to add more features in the future. So if you have any idea please let me know! If you'd like dig into the source code or make improvement yourself, the code for calendar is on GitHub. Hope you enjoy ✌️

What features would you like also to see?
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
Just added the "High and low temperature" option like - 🌤 18°/32° And now if you click any of the days, you will be able to see this in the description: 🌤 Few clouds 🌅 Sunrice 6:00 and sets 18:01 ⚡️ Pressure 1015 hPa 💧 Humidity 21% 💨 Wind speed up to 2 m/s 🚩 from NE ↗

@vejnoe this is awesome! i'm curious how I could subscribe to a calendar that is just sunrise/sunset event for my city (SF). Visualizing daylight hours on my calendar to help me enjoy the upcoming daylight savings shift
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@mason_m planing on adding that, but are you looking for something that are showing up in the top with 'all-day events'? Or more like an event in the morning and one again in the evening when the is going down?

Cool

Clean and simple! Makes my planning easier...
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@erlandsens Thanks, glad you find it useful!
Beatrice Blanc
I love having the weather in my calendar, and Andreas has been incredibly responsive and congenial when I've asked for help. SO glad he filled the gap with this service!!! Thank you!
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
Thanks you @beatrice_blanc, also for coming with great input for improvement!

The only calendar widget you need for Google Calendar! It's super useful, clean, minimal, and it does what you expect it to do!
SEIICHI
How do I make it work for Google Calendar on Chrome? I clicked Add to Calendar and selected Chrome yet nothing happened.
SEIICHI
Would be great if we can simply have the webcal url link so that we can easily manually add it to google calendar
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@toseiichi and @kevin_mertens I just added the url link now, good idea!
Chen Chen
Is it not working now? I tried to add but it says I have no access... anyone? Thank you
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
Hi @chen_chen8, could you maybe send me a screenshot on andreas@vejnoe.dk? then I'll take a look! But now there is also the option of copying the url and pasting it in to Google Calendar or other calendars not supporting the "Add to calendar"-button...
Michael Kumschick
great add on for the google calendar we use. Makes planning easy. Is there a way to have the weather forecast adjust to the local time zone? So that sunrise and sunset are displayed in the current time zone? keep it up.
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@mkumi hoping to find a way, working on it!
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@deleted-2892391 Finally got to fix this, it's now displaying in the right local timezone.

Great product! Fills the void when Google pulled the native option. Could you add options to change from m/s to MPH and hPa to PSI like you did for F vs C?
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@tyson_martin good idea I’ll add it to my list. Thanks for the feedback!
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@tyson_martin I just fix m/s to MPH when you select F. And hPa now shows in IN (inch mercury 32°F)... looks like that what other weather services uses. Would you prefer PSI?

I like your work. This is the first time I'm using a calendar subscription, so I wonder why I can't see weather events for previous days, they just disappear, yesterday's event was there and now it's gone today, is this the way calendar subscriptions work or maybe it could be fixed?
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@semih_ozdemir1 Yes its unfortunate the way it works, for it to work it would mean I would need to cache all the days a person is using the calendar... It is a feature I have been looking in to but for now it's not planned. But ill keep it in mind for future releases. Thanks for your inputs and for using my calendar 😊

Thank you for making this – love it so much! One small thing: mine won't show the city after the temp. I'd like to show temp for two different cities so it's important to be able to see the name of the city after (like in your screenshots). Am I doing something wrong? (Using GCal web).
Andreas Vejnø Andersen
@whitmragan Hi, sorry the way I'm getting the City name up there is by adding the name to the location, this means Apple Calendar will show it in the week view, and Google does not do that for all day events. But Ill add it as new feature next time I update it so it can be apart of the name, it won't look as cool, but maybe it's better than nothing?
