@perte most these codes are gone btw, and it sucks that people aren’t even courteous enough to others to post which one they used. I used: ELYJJ4XYXLHT Thanks for the promo code! App looks sleek.

@diemkay Oh, shit. Feel free to DM me on Twitter.

@perte Am a fan so far, just downloaded. Unfortunately all the promo codes are gone but as features roll out I plan to go premium. I like the UI a lot. Very clean.

@perte Where Can I redeem the promo code?

The app is reasonably good-looking, and very focused. Good performance, gestures seem fluid. I think it feels a bit unintuitive and lacking in useful detail however. There doesn't seem to be any way to quickly swipe between locations (correct me if I just haven't found it?), nor a way to get any hourly forecast breakdown. The widget shows location & temperature, which is less than Apple's widget that shows chance of rain & high/low without having to tap 'Show More'. On an iPhone 7, I have to scroll to see all of the more detailed weather information, even though it could easily all fit on the screen. The rounded box around the location name at the top of the main weather view makes me think it can be tapped (looks almost like a button), but doesn't seem to do anything. Without the Pro upgrade (before I activated it), there's so little information that I almost wonder whether the app should just have been paid instead of free.

@iamsebj I’m currently at lunch, but try swiping left and right from the main screen. From the Glances screen, tap on a city to “teleport” there. Repeat as needed.

@perte I noticed the left swipe for glances and right swipe for settings, but I'm guessing there's no gesture to swipe between cities like the iOS Weather app or Weather Line? Two-finger horizontal swipe could be cool, although I guess that breaks the mental model of the layout/space of the app.

You think this is sassy? Try talk to Carrot... P.S. It's "free". WeatherKit Pro (Monthly) $0.99 WeatherKit Pro (Lifetime) $15.99 WeatherKit Pro (1 Year) $8.99
Raul Perțe
@roman_dubinin Those wouldn't be there if I wouldn't have to pay monthly API bills for the weather data.
Joshua Pinter
@roman_dubinin @perte Is a subscription necessary to actually use the app? What does it get you?
Roman Dubinin
@perte maybe then don't advertise your app as free without any mentions of monthly based subscription?

I installed it to try, at least. Why does the Product Hunt Get It include two links to your website, one to the App Store, and none to the Play Store? And you really need to correct the description on the Play Store too, it's clearly copied straight from the App Store - talking about iTunes etc, as well as referencing Aerium (SP?). I wonder how much of the legendary Android users reluctance to pay for things is from feeling like second-class citizens? Vicious cycle, if so.

What's new @perte? Also, what makes this different from all the other weather apps out there?
Raul Perțe
@amrith We completely rewrote the app in order to make it easy to support the upcoming iOS 12 features. Then, we thought of that adding a bit of sassiness in the forecast description, alongside a solid rebranding. We'll release one update / week. Here’s what’s new: · 5-day forecast During our beta, we heard lots of voices saying that we should support at least 5 days of weather forecast. To do so, we invested heavily into how we can make that experience as seamless as possible and our whole team is stoked with the result. Did someone say hourly forecasts? They're next. · RainAlert We love RainAlert only because sometimes it’s invisible. It was designed to only get in your way when you need it more. · Subscriptions To provide you with the best weather data, we’re using the best weather API’s available - and boy, they’re not cheap. We’re a small indie team committed to this project and to the people using it, without turning a profit. In all fairness, we’d love to push the limits on the affordability and in this update, we added multiple Pro subscriptions. You can subscribe to our monthly or yearly plan, or get the best deal available and buy the lifetime in-app purchase. · Interface & Experience We updated the onboarding alongside with the interface for a better user experience. You’ll notice major changes to the swipe-up weather card, both in smoothness and content. It’s a small redesign with a focus on accessibility.

I had to ask a refund of my pro version because I don't see the pro ... of the pro version. Moreover, the only great improvement that seems to be on the roadmap is the dark mode ... since 2018.

Pros:

Clean design

Cons:

No french, not much improvement of the app (removing feature because they weren't good enough isn't an improvement).

Johannes DeMattia
Looks interesting, thanks! Where do you apply the promo code in the Android app?
Raul Perțe
@demattia @iancuio, please post here 25 Android promo codes.
Iancu Vlad
@demattia @perte Hello! The other maker here. Unfortunately, our dear Google doesn't allow promo codes for subscriptions :/
