Hey ProductHunt! ๐
Five years ago, I was using a PDF highlighter and thought: Why isn't this on every website?
This idea inspired me to create the first version of my Web Highlights Chrome Extension, which allowed me to highlight text on any website. When I revisited those sites, my highlights were still there. Most importantly, I could easily search and find my highlights anytime and from anywhere.
Today, I can proudly say that Web Highlights helps over 100,000+ active users to organize their digital life. Web Highlights has evolved to be the best-rated and most-loved PDF & Web Highlighter in the Chrome Web Store.
What started as a simple Highlighter tool for Websites and PDFs has evolved into a comprehensive research and learning platform, offering not only core functionality but also many additional features to better organize your digital life.
Over the past month, I've been dedicated to creating a solid tool accessible to all. The majority of the app is free, and you can even begin using it without creating an account.
However, Web Highlights offers much more with our Ultimate features, including unlimited Learning Recap, web app access, seamless sync between devices, advanced highlighting options, image highlighting capabilities, export to PDF & HTML, customizable reminders, and early access to upcoming features.
For this launch, I have prepared a limited lifetime deal for Web Highlights. Use the code PRODUCTHUNT30 and get 30% on any lifetime plan. You can find the current prices here: app.web-highlights.com/pricing
Looking forward to your feedback! โ๐ป

Hey @ena_gluhakovic, sure you can already share your highlighted pages. You can click the share icon and share the URL to your highlights. For example, here are some highlights from a Marketing article, I highlighted recently: https://web-highlights.com/disco...
What do you think?
This is an amazing and awesomly helpful tool that I use every day to help me save, categorize and refer to pieces of information I need to learn/recall/remember. I am studying for cyber security, doing web development work, starting a blot, trying to manage family members' health conditions, and do my own research on various things including music. This app is fantastic to help keep track of important info pieces, review them, re-visit the original source and more. Worth the premium subscription for sure. Thank you Marius for doing the work to create this app!
TLDR: give it a try folks, the free plan is sufficiently good and does what a highlighter need to do :)
I have tried some softwares designed for highlighting but I still like this software most and here is my thoughts for them since last time I used:
- Weava: seems like it is not maintained anymore and no update from their community :(
- Liner: so sad that the company removed the highlight feature , changed the entire app's features just to chase the chatGPT , AI hype :((
- Hypothes: is the software I use until I know Web Highlight . Hypothes completes its job well enough but it lacks a feature like multiple colors for highlighting, also the UI, and its overall look is just not my taste.
Final point for why I like web highlight is because the software is created, maintained by a person. It carries the indie vibe in itself and for me there is personal, hard to describe connection, feelings between the software and the users. And I have favoring bias for softwares made by indie makers ๐
I'm still watching the journey of web highlight, wish all the best for it, Marius ๐ซถ
This is awesome! ๐ An incredible tool that has been crafted to do some awesome things and I love it! I recommend that anyone who spends a lot of time online taking notes and exploring the web give this a try and use it, it will save you so much time and is a great place to have all of your highlights and notes that you take from websites.
Also, Marius is dedicated to building a tool that empowers its users so I'd 100% recommend this product and having faith in the guy behind it!
Keep smashing it Marius ๐
Congratulations on the success of Web Highlights, and itโs fantastic to see how much the tool has evolved over the years. For anyone who deals with a lot of online reading and research - it's brilliant
I have a question:
Can you explain how the "Learning Recap" feature works? It sounds intriguing, but I'm curious about what it entails and how it can benefit users.
Thank you, @miko_markovic11! The learning recap feature is designed to help you retain information in long-term memory. It uses spaced repetition, ensuring that highlights are revisited periodically. Iโve also written a detailed article on this topicโfeel free to check it out: https://web-highlights.com/blog/...
I am having the smoothest experience with this highlighter extension compared to all the other highlighter extensions I have used. I now read and annotate research papers exclusively using this app.
Purchased lifetime subscription last month.
I installed this Chrome extension long time ago, and it has been an absolute game-changer. The user interface is easy and intuitive, making it easy to use. It's boosting my productivity significantly ever since. Really love that it supports PDFs too! I know how much effort Marius has put into this incredible extension, the hard work definitely paid off! I highly recommend this Chrome extension to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient tool to organize and collect important quotes on the web. Definitely has saved me a lot of time! Five stars all the way!
