Good morning Product Hunt, and a big thanks to @bentossell for hunting this!
For many years now, developers have had access to really powerful CSS 3D transforms and interactions (to build crazy awesome sites like https://gyrosco.pe/features), and today we're excited to offer this same type of power through a completely visual interface.
Here are some of the best features:
- It creates production-quality code (which you can publish in a click)
- It's completely responsive (you can change transforms at each breakpoint)
- The entire http://3d-transforms.webflow.com/ site was built visually with Webflow 3D Transforms (inception!)
- Supported in all modern browsers (though IE11 has some hiccups)
Today we're opening up this feature in beta, and you can play around with it right away - check out some of these tutorials to get started: http://help.webflow.com/courses/...
We'll be hanging out here all day, so feel free to chime in and ask us anything :)
@chrisgscott Thanks for the kind words, Chris! This is part of the main Webflow app (similar to http://interactions.webflow.com/), and it's already available to you on the Style Tab :)
@callmevlad YAAAAAAAAASSSS. Didn't see any "since you've been gone" when I logged in, so I wasn't sure. I'm working on two different site refreshes right now, I can't wait to play around with this!
Pretty cool update, I've heard about Webflow because you guys made a breakdown post on how you joined YC early this year - I signed up for a trial account and I was positively impressed! Good to see the product has evolved :) π
Played around for 10 minutes with the new tools: http://in-a-galaxy.webflow.io/
Love what you guys at Webflow are doing. Every update is stellar, and this one is no exception. Congrats and keep it up!
Wow. They done it again. I've been almost a day-one paying customer and this is one good reason to come back and kick the tires. WebFlow Platform, Webflow CMS, now 3D Transforms. This team will make sure your entire eco-system's bloodstream is ingrained with Webflow. Nice!
@callmevlad This is awesome, you know I'm a HUGE fan and evangeliser of webflow. Is it possible to just export the 3d animation code to implement it in a production-ready website built in say Bootstrap? Or do I need to "hack" the css and classes and everything to make it work? Thanks!!
@sadokx Hey Sadok, this is the same as any other CSS feature for Webflow - you're free to take the code and integrate somewhere else (though that might take a bit of expertise to leave out any of the webflow.css framework code that you don't need). But there's not much different here from other CSS features like box shadows, background images, etc.
