We’re on a mission to enable everyone to create for the web. We built a time machine, traveled to the future, and brought back all the tools we need to teach web design and development visually.

Hi, everybody — Sara Lundberg here! I run design at Webflow University, and today I’m beyond thrilled to introduce Webflow University 2.0: a release so big, we almost called it Webflow University 3.0. Today marks the start of a whole year focused on creating and launching the best web design and development education on the planet (for free!). We’re so humbled by the millions of people who’ve learned from Webflow University over the past three years, and we’re excited to usher in this new era at Webflow. In fact, since Webflow started in 2013, we’ve been driven by a mission to make designing and building for the web more accessible for everyone — regardless of their coding experience. If that sentence seems familiar, it’s because I lifted it from Sergie’s Product Hunt post in 2017. (That doesn’t make it any less true.) But to dramatically accelerate our mission, we built a time machine, went to the future, and brought back everything we needed to visually teach the concepts behind HTML, CSS, 3D transforms, animations, accessibility, SEO, and the principles of long-range quantum entanglement. All of these concepts we teach *visually*, meaning learners of all levels can pick up web design — regardless of whether or not they have coding experience. Most importantly, the principles we’re teaching aren’t baked into a template — these are the same exact web properties of HTML and CSS used by Apple, Google, Stripe, and the top designers and developers on the planet. We’re launching all-new lessons today, and over the coming weeks and months, we’re dramatically expanding our library of teaching to enable everyone to create for the web. Some of it is exciting. Some of it is bold. Some of it our attorneys advised against releasing. All of it is made from the heart. And we couldn’t be more excited for you to check out our work.

@saralundberg1 Hi Sara, I love Webflow's educational courses and videos and so this announcement is exciting. However, I'm confused because I don't see anything new or different on your courses page: https://university.webflow.com/c..., or on your YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/c/Webflo.... Were should I look to find the all-new lessons? Or are they going to be posted later today?
Blake Manzo
@chuck_braman to me it looks like there are a lot more courses than there were before, and it also says at the bottom they will be releasing 2 new ones per week moving forward and you can sign up for updates
Chuck Braman
@blakemanzo I tried refreshing the page, but you're seeing something different than I am. At the Courses link I provided above, the organization of the page looks refreshed, but the courses look familiar, the course labeled as "new," Moving Your Business Online, is material published a few weeks ago, and I don't see the announcement or the link at the bottom to sign up for updates. Could you please check my link or share a link to the page you are describing? Usually, a key to finding new material is at the YouTube link I provided. Apart from today's announcement video, the newest video there is from a month ago. Not that I'm not expecting and looking forward to these new videos and courses to arrive, of course, perhaps even later today, I just don't see them now.

@blakemanzo, @johnbhiggins OK, found the page university.webflow, it has the message at the bottom "This launch is just the beginning. Starting Tuesday, we're releasing 2 lessons every week." So today seems to be the launch of a reorganized Webflow University page, 2 lessons added every Tuesday starting next week, which we'll probably be able to identify from seeing what's newly posted on their YouTube page.

Awesome stuff! My cofounder and I launched our product SparkLoop on Product Hunt today and we used Webflow to design our marketing site even though we're both developers! Thanks and keep up the awesome work!

Love Webflow and became a hell of a lot more productive in getting my ideas out because of the University. As an intermediate user, my biggest leap forward was customizing integrations for a research platform and would like to see more videos on integrations that can expand it. Also more McGuire and Grímur.

Webflow University is THE BEST WAY TO LEARN DESIGN AND CODE ON EARTH, period. Congrats to the team for this world class job. 1.0 was a work of art but 2.0 sets a standard for what video training should look like. Again, Bravo 👏👏

Echoing @chuck_braman, for those of us who have worked through the material, how do we find the new material? Is it up yet? If not, when will it be? Will it be communicated what is new and what is update? Thanks.

That’s a great update. I tried the previous version of Webflow University to create a startup site and University was helpful but this new version is top notch and more complete.

This is awesome! Webflow university was already somewhere I directed people to but this one is even better! It seems like there are a lot more advanced level courses, and the breakdown between beginner and advanced is more clear. It's cool to see both levels catered to!

Super helpful videos from V1 have come in handy during my webflow development... I'm sure this one will be too! Nice stuff.

The Yaguara team are heavy users of Webflow, and it is the most divine intuitive tool in the game. This is just another great resource by them. Feel free to ask me or @greg_parker1 anything!

as a nocode-er, the value prop is kind of missed on me. What's separating learning design "visually" from what is already out there? i.e. it just doesn't make sense up front as to why I'd dig deeper and choose Webflow U vs all these other tools to learn the same/similar. Help?!
Mark Willis
@stephenalan Hey Stephen, it's the ability to be able to design visually, but also have a website that creates clean structured code. You have very few limitations in what you can create compared to other tools which are more template driven and therefore more restrictive, or drag and drop creators which create more bloated and often slower websites. We have this incredible learning platform with hours and hours of highly produced content, plus an incredibly supportive community to help you if you get stuck. The jokes are free... well so is the University content come to think of it.

Webflow University 2.0 Is just one of the best things you ever made ! better than webflow it self x)

That's hilarious, I was on Indiehacker the other week telling some new folks how to they should use Webflow to get started if they want to save time, they asked me for resources and I just looked up a few vids from Webflow university and linked them - this is just perfect timinig! I hope the folks are still learning and will see the new university content!

Wonderful job over here Webflow team! What was the biggest learning, improvement that you made when building WU 2.0? What's something you thought you'd add to WU, but later decided to hold off on?
AP Johnson
Loved Webflow University 1.0, so I can't wait to check out 2.0! Also love the video trailer 😂
