Hi guys, your tool looks great. Same goes for the landing page. What's not so clear to me is how this tool save time on development. Appreciate any insight on that. Tnx!
@orenohad Hey, thanks for checking it out and the praise :)
While developers have made leaps and bounds finding new ways to display and communicate information through motion, these advanced techniques are often inaccessible and extremely time-consuming to pursue for designers without an in-depth knowledge of code.
We created this 3D Parallax Editor for web and graphic designers that want to use these types of animations on their websites but that may not have the ability or time to dig into complex code. They simply upload a background with up to four layers, adjust the effect to their desire and hit publish.
@haimpekel Hey, good question.
You do need to sign up for Webydo to play around with the Editor.
Once in the Studio, you simply drag and drop the 3D Parallax Editor onto your canvas where you will then be able to edit layers, intensity of 3D effect, opacity and the H/V in a Properties window.
We have a nice GIF showing how it works here: http://3d-parallax.webydo.com/
Let me know if you need any help trying it out!
A seriously wonderful tool for marketers all over the world. Thanks for giving me the pleasure to be an early adopter. I will definitely keep this tool and let whom ever I know about it. Keep up the good work!!!!!
Kudos to @newrulesinvest for the Hunt!
Always looking to bring our community the cutting edge in web design without having to code, we are extremely excited to release this 3D Parallax Editor.
Based on CSS 3D transforms distributed along the x-axis, Webydo’s backend does the heavy lifting so that you can simply upload layers (video, images, typography, and pretty much anything else) for an awesome hover-activated 3D effect.
We’d love to hear what you think!
@yamre@newrulesinvest I second that.. thanks Zack :)
I’m really proud of this tool and looking forward to hearing what designers think.
As a company that not only thrives on the feedback of our users but also uses it to drive the platform forward, this one feels pretty special.
Realistically, what impact does it have on site load? I imagine it's quite a heavy load for a standard desktop browser? How does it work on mobile? (if at all!)
Cool idea. 3D effect reminds me a lot of 3Dit by @edankwan!
@matt_aunger Hi Matt, spot-on question.
In general, it shouldn’t be an impediment to site speed but like any website, once you start adding tons of images (I mean a lot here) you will run the risk you run of ramping up load time.
In terms of mobile, this is a hover-activated animation so like other forms of parallax, it won’t be available on mobile devices.
Will definitely have to check out 3Dit and hope that answers your questions.
@reder_c Thanks for the super speedy response! That makes sense with the images and load thing. With mobile, it's going to be fun when someone figures out how to use device gyros for parallax control, without it crashing the device!
http://www.edankwan.com/lab/3dit It's old news now. Head to the website and add the button to your bookmark, head to any website and click it, it'll force a 3D parallax effect!
