Introducing WeirdSpot.fyi: Now turn the weirdest, most outrageous one-liners into a playlist. We know no one asked for this but weird stuff like this is what makes the internet beautiful. Get really weird for the best results :)
A big thank you to @chrismessina for hunting us, time and again! :)
👋 Hello Product Hunters,
I’m Prithvi, co-founder of humit, the social music discovery app.
🤔 The Why?
We at humit have a penchant for taking a joke too far. What started off as a side project by an intern looking for alternate ways to stand out in front of his crush, has snowballed into something much more. We hope you have fun with this :D
🛠The What?
Created by the awesome team behind humit, Weird Spotify playlist helps you generate hilariously specific playlists for the most insane of things. All you gotta do is search for a phrase, and let WeirdSpot.fyi browse Spotify’s catalog of over 70 million tracks to generate an exciting (read: weird) playlist based on the words you entered! It also lets you save your witty music taste on Spotify & share it on other platforms. Check out for yourself!
Special thanks to @tarun_raheja, @aashish_peepra, @jaideep_khare, @pradyumn_awasthi, @rohit_ganapathy, and @sudomice for bringing this to life. I hope you all enjoy the fruit of our labor! We’re always looking forward to your feedback.
Came up with something so witty and actually found a match?
Let us know in the comments section below and we’ll have it featured on our homepage :)
P.S. Never underestimate the power of a good playlist. But if it's a weird Spotify playlist, it better have a good sense of humor.
Feature request: I am unsure what magic is running behind, worth to bringup the playlist where I could see playlist with a complete context. For instance, I was trying to search "I'm depressed" and I thought it would take the whole context of the phrase which is around sadness and show me the items around it but all I can see is one item "I'm depressed"
@aashish_peepra@rohit_ganapathy@prithvi_sankar Another feature request: Worth to explore & experiment more on this -> Figure out a way to understand my current mood based on the phrase I've written. For instance, if I am sad, a playlist to cheer me up from that mood. If I want to be mindful, a playlist on lo-fi and etc I think there are several ways to make this happen, finding out the user's Mood -> how would they want to react to that mood. Happy, sad, fear, anger, surprise. With weirdspot.fyi - I'd love to see that playlist based on positive and negative human emotions from what they have written. Pump up the positiveness and negate the negative emotion with playlists (Not sure if this is vision but this would be sick)
Alright, I shut my mouth :D :)
@tarun_raheja@jaideep_khare are geniuses and it's been an absolute pleasure working with them on this. Execution by @aashish_peepra and @pradyumn_awasthi has been the highest quality and the fastest I've seen, super clean website. A fun idea brought to life by some of the best people I know. Hope you guys enjoy using it~
Oh this is super good n fun Prithvi. Wish I had developed these skills instead of sales marketing and random stuff.
Beyond girlfriend and geeks it's got educational use as well if it can run podcast for the searched phrases. Kind of stich together a course based on search string. If you'd be kind id like to use this tech for a social impact project to create free courses for people to learn.
And add a filter for profanity please. "Product management basics" pumped up something nasty!
