On Whater, users post ideas for things to do as short instant text messages. Other nearby users can swipe through and join those ideas or suggest their own. Those ideas become conversations where all interested people can organize, make plans and discuss.

Great concept, and the app is cool too. Was slightly annoyed that you tried to make me post first but once i saw a few ideas it got me going.. nice work!

@sunilmohan Thanks for the honest feedback, it's very helpful. Glad you were able to get going after the on-boarding.

@dndombe Of course! We fret over that stuff all the time so thought it might help! Love the app overall and the UX already connected with someone over an idea.

Hello Product Hunters! Thank you for checking out Whater. Whater is a mobile app to create instant communities. We've drastically reduced the cognitive steps needed to create a community around common ideas, effectively making the sharing of those ideas as easy as posting a tweet. Everything else is automated by the app. We use machine learning to curate all interesting ideas and present them one at a time to the right people, instead of as a multitude of choices like Meetup. Interactions are as ephemeral or as long-lasting as the user wants, freeing them to try different things, rather than tying them to a specific group long term.
