XL video rooms in Whereby — Bring your whole team together & involve them all
XL Rooms is a new feature in the Whereby Business plan, designed to maximize bandwidth, increase focus, and allow all team members to participate to the conversation without interrupting the speakers. XL rooms hold up to 50 people with 12 on stage with video.

Totally agree with the positive reviews so far. We use Whereby intensively at out company and it never fails to impress both functionally and from a UX perspective. Features that would make it even better; telephone dial-in, background blug/insertion, automatic switching to whoever talks, real-time voice transcription.
I've been using Whereby for a few years now, and it's a super easy to use video meeting tool.
Definitely going to test out the XL rooms for larger 'whole company' / 'whole team' meetings.

Since we rolled out our Business plans, a lot of customers have expressed the need to hold meetings with more people, more often. We took the challenge on to design a better big video meeting experience and we're thrilled to release XL rooms to all of our customers.
Hosting meetings in the browser with so many people can be challenging, as video is very resource-intensive and fitting 50 people on one screen is a unique challenge on its own. We took a step back and considered larger meetings in real-life. Once a group outgrows a meeting room table we naturally focus attention by splitting the group into presenters and audience. Whereby XL rooms work the same way - up to 12 people can be "on stage" at once while 38 others can watch and listen. You can rotate speakers as needed just by turning the cameras on and off.
The audience members can react with emojis 🎉 , ask questions via chat, or press the space bar to talk at any time, without having to be on stage. This is a great way to involve anyone, even the shy or quiet team members. It's low effort, but high impact and it makes for a much more engaging meeting experience.
