@kikischirr I just finished this book last week. Part horror story, part romance, part cabinet of curiosities, part commentary on pseudo-intellectual bullshit -- there is no genre that does this book justice. And I can't even put into words how masterfully it's written -- how incredible the author's command of the English language is. I don't know about you, @kikischirr, but the Whalestoe Letters had me sobbing harder than I have in years.
Read this book for a course in college on Transmedia Narratives and it immediately became one of my favorite books of all time.. I'm surprised they even have a B&W version! The visuals are such a key part of the narrative.
