Hello everybody, I'm super excited to announce that I'm launching my first VisionOS app – Winner! 🙌 Winner is a simple Pomodoro tracker with an integrated to-do list that helps you stay productive on the Apple Vision Pro. The app is literally free if you stay productive and finish at least half of your tasks each session. However, if you miss your goal, you'll have to pay in Procrastination Points. My goal with this app was to explore the new and exciting VisionOS platform, go through the entire development process, and see how it differs from development for iOS or macOS. I was really surprised that, even without the physical device, it was pretty easy to start building an app in VisionOS, especially thanks to all the resources, guidelines, and the familiarity of SwiftUI. Everything works exactly the same as on other Apple platforms. I'll be writing a longer summary on what it's like to build for VisionOS, so if you're interested, hit the follow button. Also, if anybody owns a Vision Pro, I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on the app.

Congrats! I like the UI, and just a personal suggestion, the "give up" button is a bit conspicuous.

@rick_fan thanks for the great feedback! Will do something about it in the next update. 😊

Congrats for the launch! It seems like an easy yet great idea! Did you encounter any unique challenges developing for VisionOS compared to iOS/macOS?
Michal Langmajer
@david_neveceral Thanks David! I'd say 3 technical challenges. 1) I quickly found out that most online assets (which I'm usually used to work) just don't work well with the semi-translucent glass-like design. 2) The in-app purchases work a bit differently on VisionOS, and you can't even test them out in the simulator. So I was pretty much flying blind, relying solely on Apple's documentation. 3) Experimenting with 3D object positioning was way too complex for the first version, so I had to put that on hold. Besides that more or less everything worked just like on iOS/macOS. SwiftUI makes it incredibly simple to switch to visionOS.
