Super cool. I'm doing a sales campaign right now. Quite honestly I'd much rather be coding. But sales can be fun too, sometimes. This product seems like a way to not only increase conversions but also make it more fun and interesting.

Hi Product Hunters. Just released a new update to Wistia's Soapbox Product, and now comes with a suite of tools designed to help sales team create and distribute sales videos. Let us know if you have any questions!
Abadesi
@philnottingham Nice, could you tell us more about the new tools?
Phil Nottingham
@abadesi Absolutely. The main thing powering this new version is users and permissions - so managers can add their team members and everyone can see everybody else's videos and analytics data. We've improved the presentation of analytics data with more segmentation options and integrated with chrome notifications to provide alerts when someone watches a video. The newer things are Hubspot Calendar CTAs (book a meeting straight from the video), customizable video playback pages (add your logo, name and title) and a new editing workflow which is much faster and more pleasant :).

@philnottingham Hi Phil, Few thoughts if you are planning to do B2B sales : a) Track SaaS companies who have recently raised funding. Since they have raised funding, they are going to expand and put lot of efforts on sales. So it makes sense to use your product. b) Track companies who are hiring for corporate sales, B2B sales, inside sales. Since they are hiring for these roles, it means their sales department is growing and they would be happy to use your product.

Great! Soapbox is a very loved tool at our university for teaching. Our teachers find it very easy to use and powerful at the same time. Soapbox for teams is great for teachers working on the same course. Maybe you would consider an educational discount?
Phil Nottingham
@galimotion It's certainly something for us to think about! I think we're unlucky to offer discounts at this point, as we're trying to get Soapbox profitable, but pricing is $35 per user, per month, which I hope is affordable for teachers using it heavily.

Interesting to see Wistia and Vidyard get into this space. If video hosting is any indicator, Wistia will blow Vidyard out of the water again.
Phil Nottingham
@shawnarora Thanks Shawn. I think once you look at the video marketing space, increasingly being created are smaller, more targeted and have a shorter shelf-life... thus, it makes sense to try and move up the adoption funnel towards video creation. If someone makes a video with your products, they're more likely to use the rest of your product suite for management, distribution and measurement. I can't speak for Vidyard (although I'm assuming their thinking is similar), but Wistia have decided to go after sales primarily because it's where we think casual video creation can be most disruptive and provide the most value. Vidyard's GoVideo, Loom, Bomb Bomb, Screencastify etc... all came before Soapbox, but I think the value we provide above all these tools is really aesthetic. Being able to edit between different views and mix a screenshare with a full-screen webcam, as well as a split-screen view looks (in my view) so much more professional and compelling than the picture-in-picture presentation which the other tools all default to. In-person sales pitches involves interaction with slides, websites, or a live demo as well as benefitting from the expression and dynamism offered by having a person in the room. Soapbox tries to capture this spirit, and enable you to create something which really is almost as good as being with your prospects and leads in person. Sure, other tools have the edge in some integrations and speed of creation - but, in my (obviously biased) view, the look and feel of a Soapbox video is head and shoulders above.

Supper good product and very very very expensive. However, I like the editorial blog.
Phil Nottingham
Thanks @vladkorobov. Just for clarity, Soapbox for Teams is priced separate from the main Wistia product. It's $35 per user, per month. We're hoping that keeps things affordable for SMBs as well as bigger companies.
Vlad Korobov
@philnottingham Phil, thank you for clarification. I'm glad we are in situation where is Loom, Vimeo, Youtube and Open Broadcaster :) So what is the difference between Soapbox Solo, Team and a regular Wistia?
Phil Nottingham
@vladkorobov Soapbox starts as a free product. You can make and share as many videos as you want. Soapbox Solo is $25 a month and you get all the premium features like stats and download options, but you're tied to a single user. Soapbox for Teams is $35 per month per user and you get to collaborate and share stats. Wistia is a separate product entirely - it's the video marketing suite provided by the brand of the same name. Is free for 3 videos with limited features, then $99+ a month (scales with more videos) for the premium features.
Vlad Korobov
@philnottingham is the main difference ability to embed videos on the website?
Phil Nottingham
@vladkorobov not quite. It's more that Wistia is a tool for distribution and measurement of marketing videos, whereas Soapbox is primarily a tool for creation.
