I built Witness at the Disrupt Hackathon two months ago because I was frustrated with how inefficient and antiquated the existing options for dealing with emergencies are. We all carry these extremely powerful devices with us at all times, and yet, when it comes to the most critical moments of our lives, we have only managed to unlock a tiny portion of what they are capable of. Witness is designed to do the best your phone can do to protect you in an emergency. It just takes one touch to activate Witness. Witness then broadcasts your location, audio and video to your friends and loved ones. Since launching Witness 34 hours ago, thousands of people have set up Witness for themselves and their loved ones.
