Alerts, watchlists, and automations powered by custom stackable formulas. Workbase automatically scans and runs triggers over your data sources including Salesforce, Snowflake, and other live systems.
Congrats on the launch! I can see this being super powerful for observability and feature experimentation to make sure our teams stay aligned after launches. Dynamically adding triggers between Snowflake, DataDog, Slack, and Hubspot to help coordinate cross-functionally will be huge for GTM motions.
@christophercao1 Thanks Chris for the thoughtful comment! We agree that this functionality can unlock tons of value for go-to-market teams. We can’t wait to see what you build on Lite tier!
@christophercao1 Thanks for the suggestions. It's the second time we've gotten feedback about Datadog today -- we're definitely going to look into that use case. Thanks a bunch for engaging with us
@christophercao1 Thanks for the message. We already support Snowflake, Slack and Hubspot. Did you have any specific use cases in mind? Would look to brainstorm.
Hey Community, this is Ed, the other co-founder of Workbase. We're so happy to be able to share this version of Workbase with you.
I think some of the coolest parts of the app when comparing to other automation and alert providers like Zapier are:
- We allow you to easily test on all the data, so errors once the alert is live are rare.
- We allow you to specify full formulas in excel-style, this saves on either a) having 5 steps just to manipulate a string correctly or b) constantly having to pull the escape hatch and embed javascript into your flows
- We allow easy cross-object queries and have auto-complete and typing checking inside the formula (god send). This makes writing them so much easier.
Well those are a few of my favorite, would love to hear what the community thinks? We've installed a demo data provider into the application so even if you don't have anything to connect Workbase to yourself, go and check it out.
@sheilavashee Thanks for the feedback! yeah definitely, with GTM motions getting more complex, we think RevOps teams will start playing the role of 'revenue architects', which means they will need better tooling to orchestrate their strategies
@sheilavashee Thanks Sheila, we think the Rev Ops teams have been a little overlooked recently. Being between Sales and Data Eng, there needs to be something suited for the middle.
@thederrickli thanks for the feedback!
Yeah we spent a lot of time on the user flows! we hope it can make the user experience a lot more intuitive than Salesforce!
I tried out the tutorial and various use cases and this looks really awesome! It reminds me of Zapier but with an ability to create smart rule based triggers for internal operations. It also seems very flexible. Excited to explore this further for my own team.
@ravneet_uberoi thank you and glad you found the use cases relatable. Let us know if the use cases you come up with as we’d love to grow our library and get other users inspired by what you achieve.
@ravneet_uberoi thanks Ravneet, we’ve spent a bunch of time in the last weeks trying to pull together use cases that the community would find interesting :)
thanks for the nice note!
We're super excited about the potential that a flexible alerting framework could bring. Definitely let us know of any use cases!
@john_mannes3 thank you for the feedback! Please do let us know if you have very specific use cases you would like us to jump in and help you build out.
@john_mannes3 thanks John! definitely appreciate the note. We hope that we can deliver super valuable alerts to users, ones they otherwise wouldn't be able to pull off cause you'd need custom code
I could see this being really useful for sales operations or any analytics based operations automation!
I watched the demo video on the signup page, created an account, and went through one of the tutorials using their demo salesforce data. I really love the excel style formulas on top of salesforce data, and the overall UX is intuitive while staying flexible enough to be powerful.
@john_boggs1 Thanks John for the feedback and thoughts!
Glad to hear we're striking a good balance between flexibility and ease-of-use. It's something we'll continue to double down in!
@guytaylor88 Thanks a bunch! Yeah if you folks ever have business alerting needs, let us know! We're super pumped as more and more people deploy this in the wild
@meredithtosta1 thank you for your feedback! It is out of pain points and frustrations the next level of products are created and we are with you on that. No limitations here and we are excited to see what you create.
@meredithtosta1 thanks for the feedback! Would love to reach out offline to hear specifically what types of limitations are most headache inducing. Especially anything related to data!
@meredithtosta1 Yeah we've found Zapier is hard to do complex alerts and breaks regularly is the data can changes and is not super uniform. We'd love to show you some of them
It would be powerful to integrate with other system monitoring tools. Combining powers can be interesting.
For example, I'd love to use Workbase to gather logs from DataDog and produce a specific set of alerts.
@guilatrova thank you for the suggestion! And yes combining powers brings super powers which is our goal. We are rapidly growing our integrations and will definitely voice your suggestion to the team.
@guilatrova this is a really interesting point! A lot of our current integrations are with GTM systems, but it definitely could be interesting to stack monitoring tools too like Datadog. Would love to hear any specific use cases you have in mind
@john_tan_21 DataDog "sucks" on alerting on Slack. The alerts are ugly, and hard to customize.
I'd like to trigger fully customized alerts on specific logs (that frequently contain attributes like the exception) and decide what to do next.
It could allow to automate actions like notifying a customer through email to update a setting on their side, or even notifying the engineering team on Slack.
@guilatrova yeah really interesting! I think we'd need to scale up our processing power if we're going down to individual logs, but we'd love to realize your idea here at some point. Thanks for the idea!!
@guilatrova Fo DataDog, would you need to parse out the log line to pull our the attributes so you could then use them as part of the custom slack alert?
Great tool! Big congratulations on the launch! ^_^ I found it very useful for organization, information flow, and task development, what without doubts affects efficiency! Thanks for implementing this system! ^_^ It is integrated with Slack, right? :) Is it maybe also integrated with Teams? :)
